Promoting social connectedness and mental well-being among elderly populations is imperative for enhancing their quality of life and overall health. Social connectedness, encompassing the quality and quantity of relationships, plays a vital role in providing emotional support, stimulating cognitive function, and improving physical health. Additionally, maintaining social connections gives older adults a sense of purpose and belonging, contributing to their overall well-being. Mental well-being, comprising emotional, psychological, and social aspects, is crucial for seniors due to its impact on reducing the risk of depression, enhancing resilience, and improving quality of life. However, statistics highlight the prevalence of social isolation and loneliness among older adults in India, with approximately 34% experiencing social isolation and 55.4% facing loneliness. Factors influencing social connectedness include living arrangements, community engagement, access to transportation, socioeconomic status, health status, technology use, social support networks, and cultural and ethnic factors. Effective interventions and strategies to promote social connectedness and mental well-being among the elderly include community-based programs, support groups, and technology-based solutions. Senior citizen associations, day care centers for the elderly, multi-generational community events, self-help groups, widow support groups, chronic disease management clubs, mobile apps for seniors, telemedicine services, and digital literacy initiatives are essential components of these interventions. Religion also plays a significant role in promoting social connectedness and mental well-being among elders through community and social support, meaning and purpose, coping mechanisms, moral and ethical guidance, and a sense of belonging to a larger community. In conclusion, it is crucial for policymakers, healthcare professionals, and community organizations to prioritize initiatives aimed at supporting the social connectedness and mental well-being of elderly individuals. By actively engaging in these efforts, conference attendees can make a tangible difference in the lives of older adults, ensuring that they feel valued, supported, and connected within their communities.

Cities are constantly changing in terms of both forms and functions as they enlarge and grow. As new spaces are created, some of them serve more than one purpose. Urban open spaces serve as the crucial foundation for building thriving communities and cities, playing an indispensable role in fostering the physical, social, psychological, and economic wellbeing of their inhabitants. These public areas are instrumental in creating an environment where diverse individuals can actively participate in a wide array of activities, which are vital components of their daily lives. By facilitating inclusive engagement and interaction, urban spaces promote a sense of belonging, encourage social cohesion, and stimulate the growth of vibrant, resilient communities that flourish with cultural exchange, creativity, and progress. These pockets also have possibilities to include trees and vegetation. The types of urban open spaces and their various uses are vast. The most common type among them, is the residential park. Parks are civilized natural open spaces for various functions of the neighbourhood. Their role in an urban precinct has varied greatly over the years according to changing needs and lifestyles of people. The theory of hybridization helps to understand some of these processes, and explains the changes in urban spaces based on functions/programs. This paper is to study how hybridization and multifunctionality can play a role in making a park sustainable for future changes. To determine whether a park is sustainable, it is important to examine the actual reasons that are unique to each park and account for its longevity. It is critical to investigate what can be done to make parks last or sustain. People are catered to in parks, so understanding what people want from parks, how they perceive them, what they use them for, and what role parks and their spaces play for their users, will help in identifying the problems in parks today and how to bring about changes to cater to a wider user group. Using four parks in Chennai as case studies, they are analysed to better understand user needs and behaviour, as well as ways to improve the parks and their surroundings via a user survey. The identified problems are linked to the literature review in order to arrive at potential solutions that are later recommended. Based on an analysis of park elements that satisfy different protected needs of people, as well as the growing need for development in cities today, a conclusion is drawn highlighting the need for multifunctionality in parks today to enhance its people-based surroundings as opposed to the consumerism-based leisure and entertainment spaces in contemporary malls and other spaces.

Human Activity Recognition (HAR) can be described as the art of identifying and naming activities using Artificial Intelligence (AI) from the raw activity data collected by using different sources. It becomes essential to monitor the Activity of Daily Living of elderly people living alone by keeping track of their day to day activities. In this paper we have discussed various approaches along with their accuracy in percentage for Human Activity Recognition using UCI-HAR dataset. In the first part of paper the basic introduction of Human Activity Recognition is given. In second part details of every articles including Approaches which are used in those articles. In the last part of paper, we have given comparison for all approaches as per given in respective articles.

Abstract Drug reprofiling also known as drug repositioning or repurposing is an method for finding new uses of already existing drugs which is cost effective and less time consuming method as compared to new drug discovery. There is bunch of drugs which are initially developed for particular disease and later reprofiled with new uses for different types of disease with the help of various reprofiling approaches. Reprofiling a drug also has its problems but are less in comparison to new drug discovery. Over the years new methods have also discovered to reprofile drug with more complex computational approaches which is making drug reprofiling more effective.

This paper contains the results of strength values of plastic brick wall and compare with normal brick wall by re-bound hammer test, water absorption test and compressive strength test. The parameter under study is compressive strength of waste plastic bricks. The experimental results indicates that the plastic bricks are frequently priced lower than traditional construction materials, making them a desirable choice for low-budget housing.

The study examined the impact of globalization on industrial relations during the COVID-19 pandemic in International Brewery, Plc, Ilesa. The study adopted a descriptive survey research design and the total population was 92 employees in the study area. The study used a simple random technique to determine a sample size of 72 employees; Taro Yamane was used to determine the sample size. The data source in the study was primary source while linear regression analysis was used to analyze the data gathered. The finding revealed that globalization has helped in the deployment of competent experts in their companies even during the COVID-19 pandemic and contributed to the improvement of virtual training for the employees in the company. The findings of the study also revealed that globalization has a significant effect on industrial relations during the COVID-19 pandemic. Also, it was revealed that ICT has positive effects on industrial relations during the COVID-19 pandemic. The study recommended that the company should continue to intensify, and re-strategize the use of ICT and improve on it to handle any unforeseen situation like the COVID-19 pandemic.

Mucoadhesive patches of Sexagliptin containing 1 mg of drug were prepared successfully using HPMC (15 and 47 cps), PVA, and ethylcellulose polymers in different combinations and there were total six films were prepared. Optimized formula was evaluated and drug release pattern was studied. Water soluble polymers showed highest release compared to water insoluble polymers. More over the viscosity of the polymer also affects the drug release pattern. Formulations followed the zero order kinetics and Higuchi's model for drug release. In vivo absorption of drug in rabbits found that 80.14% within 30 min from the optimized formula. The in vitro-in vivo correlations (IVIVC) was attempted for the release and absorption of Sexagliptin from the patches. The correlation coefficient for patch BP-V was 0.996.
