 Abstract

Plastic hinges and increased steel connection ductility were used to mitigate the brittle fracture risk associated with steel frame structures using conventional weld connections. Without having to cut the beam flange or web, a new reduced beam section (RBS) connection was built by increasing the beam's rigidity. RBS joints have the potential to crack and produce structural displacement in a steel frame structure when subjected to significant deformation. Since steel frame constructions with RBS connections are susceptible to delayed collapse, it is crucial to consider their bearing capability and resistance. Increasing the component's ductility and moment capacity will stop it from collapsing, which is the aim of this project. The objectives of this study are to establish the effective size web RBS (thickness and diameters) of the tubular and to guarantee successful modifications to the web RBS and without RBS of the accordion. These RBS models should be compared to those without RBS. In this scenario, pushdown analysis is used. Repositioning the plastic hinge on the beam will distribute the weight evenly and lessen the chance of a sudden failure of the column. Thus, there is a lower chance of an unplanned collapse of the building. If the weight shifts, the beam will break, but the column section of the beam can be altered without damaging it. This study's main objective is to employ RBS to prevent the building from collapsing too soon.

 Abstract

Ayurveda treats the diseases with different treatment principles, one among that is Daiva vyapasrya chikitsa,i.e., mantra(spiritual hymns),oushadi(specalised drugs), mani (gems)mangala(auspicious offerings),homa(sacrifice),prayaschitta(atonment),pratipatana gamanadi( going on pilgrimages) are the important aspects of this daiva vyapasrya chikitsa. Mantra means a group of words, which has an empirical power to eradicate disease instantaneously. Such therapies are, as a matter of fact, related to the blessings and influence of the gods. All the items enumerated under the item spiritual therapy (Daiva vyapasrya chikitsa) are effective in the eradication of diseases only due to the divine influence. some mantras we can see the across the charaka samhita in the context of unmada, apasmara, jwara, and in collection of drugs, an attempt is made to find out the mantra chikitsa in charaka samhita, which is discussed in detail in the paper.

 Abstract

Concrete is the most widely used construction material worldwide, however the production of Portland cement, an essential constituent of concrete, releases large amount of CO 2 in to the atmosphere (Since CO 2 is a major contributor to the green house effect and the global warming of the planet). In this scenario, the use of supplementary cementing materials, such as coal ash, slag and silica fume as a Replacement for Portland cement in concrete presents one viable solution with multiple benefits for the sustainable development of the concrete industry. The most commonly available supplementary cementing material worldwide is coal ash, a by-product from the combustion of pulverized coal in thermal power plants. Coal ash consists of two parts, fly ash and bottom ash. Fly ash is a finely divided, amorphous aluminum silicate that reacts at normal temperature with calcium hydroxide to produce calcium silicate hydrate (C-S-H) with compendious properties i.e. it is pozzolanic material. Bottom ash is a coarser material, witch falls into the furnace bottom in large thermal power plants and constitute about 20% of the total ash content.

 Abstract

Concrete is a major civil engineering construction material, because the ingredients of concrete are locally available materials. Generally, the cement is used as major binding material. The usage of cement in concrete causes lot of environmental pollution due to emission of greenhouse gases so that, it is necessary to reduce usage of cement by introducing new supplementary cementitious materials which are the by-products of industries to reduce debris. Rice husk ash (RHA) is an agricultural based pozzolanic material, generated by rice mills in huge quantities. This paper summarizes the experimental work on concrete in which Plain Portland cement (PPC) cement were replaced by Rice husk ash (RHA). Concrete specimens were prepared with 2.5%, 5%, 7.5%, and 10% 12.5% and 15% % RHA as a replacement of cement by weight, the most important mechanical property of concrete is compressive strength and it is evaluated on 150 mm sized cubes. The compressive strength is obtained for 7 and 28 days strength and results are analysed.

 Abstract

This paper will present various passive cooling strategies suitable for hot and dry regions. Buildings as they are constructed presently use a huge energy resource and other nonrenewable natural resources, with devastating negative environmental effects. It can be seen that 29% of the overall energy is used by the building out of which 20% by residents and 9% by commercial. A hypothetical model will be developed with climate consideration of Solapur city and the implication of passive cooling strategies at the site, building, and component levels. The purpose of this research is to see how effective it is to implement chosen climate-responsive technologies to increase energy efficiency and minimize power utilization in individual dwellings in hot and dry climates. The key results of this research have been described and suggested solution from the studies based on the limits of this research has been presented. Hypothetical studies have suggested that using all of the mentioned strategies in buildings can reduce mechanical cooling demand by up to 50% - 70%.

 Abstract

The research presents a comparative analysis of properties & performance of hot mix asphalt (HMA) with mixing of polymer modified Bitumen (PMB) in terms of LDPE, HDPE & CR. Polymer modified Asphalt improved stiffness and susceptibility to high temperature effects. With CR modified HMA was found to the most cost effective with 0.166 million saving per lane km, compared to LDPE & HDPE modified HMA. The main objective of this study in to investigate the feasibility of using the additives containing from waste PET by the aminolysis process, to improve the performance of bituminous mixture. The environmentally friendly green asphalt was prepared for road construction by mixing with waste polyethylene terephthalate (WPET). The modifier were used in percentage of 4%% and 8% (wt/wt) to obtain modified asphalt binder with desirable physical and engineering properties

 Abstract

In 21st century world as well our country is facing from problems of water scarcity. There is huge demand of water and sources of freshwater are depleting day-by-day. It is duty of every individual, society, organization to look at this problem seriously and find an effective solution in this matter. We can use the grey water as a source for fulfilling daily activities. The water from kitchen, laundry, bathroom, basin, sinks can be collected properly store, treat and allow to pass through layered filter of sand, aggregate, activated carbon and waste shells of dry fruit like walnut and pistachio. As different layers of material are from top dry fruit shells to vetiver roots at bottom. The odour and soapy foam problem which is biggest concern in grey water is solved This filter has proved efficient to reduced chemicals like BOD, COD, pH, TDS, Hardness. For better result it moreover depends upon detention time.

 Abstract

Water is life. Water is essential to all living organisms. Water is a natural source which is easily available for all of us. We cannot live without water. Our human body consists of 60 to 70 % water. So, water must be cleaned, disinfectant & purified before drink. Therefore, it is required to check the quality of water for preventing the diseases occurred due to contaminated water. The proper treatment should be given to make water potable for drinking purpose. The physical, chemical & biological characteristics of water were checked by performing the different tests on it & these values were compared with the standard values specified by BIS. By collecting nearly 10 ground water samples i.e. well water samples from different regions of Dhule city & comparing the observed values with standard values, suitable purification process i.e. treatment to be given to ground water to make it potable.
