 Abstract

Oblique stagnation point flow of a Casson nanofluid over a stretching surface is investigated under the influence of variable fluid properties. The effect of variable fluid properties on the flow field is examined by taking a convective boundary condition into account. Momentum, energy and concentration equations are transformed into the non-linear ODE system through suitable similarity transformations and are solved analytically via Semi numerical Technique (OHAM). Effect of pertinent parameters on dimensionless velocity, temperature and concentration are depicted graphically.

 Abstract

Parotid carcinoma is a malignant neoplasm derived from epithelial cells of the parotid salivary gland. Most salivary gland neoplasms are benign (80%) and another 20% are malignant. The prevalence of parotid squamous cell carcinoma is rarely found to be only 0.3% -1, 5% of all malignancy of the head and neck. Most of the squamous cell carcinoma in the parotid is due to the metastasize of malignancy of the skin and the head (overall risk 1-2%). Diagnostics are made by history taking, clinical examination, ultrasound, and fine needle aspiration biopsy (FNAB). Definitive diagnosis is obtained by histopathological examination. Treatment of parotid carcinoma is parotidectomy, either superficial, total, or radical and followed by radiotherapy.

 Abstract

Abstract: This study has been undertaken to Determine the Level of Empathy among Undergraduate Occupational TherapyStudents as Related to Gender and Various Academic Years with objective of determining the level of Empathy among undergraduate Occupational Therapy students studying in Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research (Deemed to be University)Chennai India .and comparing the level of Empathy among various academic years and gender. The total number of participants consisted of 121 undergraduate Occupational Therapy students of whom 86 were female and 35 were male and the study was conducted for 2 weeks period by using Convenience Sampling. A cross-sectional study using a paper-based survey of the Toronto Empathy Questionnaire was administered to students. In this current study, respondents possess an average level of Empathy and the level of Empathy was found to be equal among all four academic year and was found to be higher among female students. Educational intervention can be adapted to enhance better understanding of Empathy which in turn improves patient care.

 Abstract

This project presents a technique for optimal sizing of hybrid microgrid. To achieve a certain load demand for microgrid system. Hybrid microgrid is made of a Solar photovoltaic system, Wind turbine system and energy storage system. Hybrid microgrids based on renewable energy resources is cost effective. Efficiency and performance will increase. Hybrid microgrid comprise of several parallel connected distributed resources with electronically controlled strategies, which are capable to operate in both islanded and grid connected mode. System reliability and cost effectiveness are major factors considered for designing hybrid microgrid to achieve better power management scheme. Genetic Algorithm scheme is applied to identify the sizing of wind turbines, solar, energy storage system and find the optimal configuration of hybrid microgrid system. The design and optimal operation of hybrid microgrid system has been developed and validated through MATLAB software. The reliability of the microgrid system is modeled based on the Loss of power supply probability. For optimization, genetic algorithm is used to minimize the total cost of the system satisfying some reliability and operation constraints.

 Abstract

Children who are mentally challenged need at most care and attention in meeting the basic needs. In this present descriptive study 30 caregivers of mentally challenged children were selected to assess their burden level. Purposive sampling technique was used to select the samples. Majority of the samples depicted high level of burden. There was significant association found between the demographic variable (educational qualification) and the burden level in care givers of mentally challenged children. Parents or caregivers of children who are mentally challenged need social & educational support in caring them and meeting their demands.

 Abstract

Abstract: The concept, perception and definition of slums vary across the states, depending on their socio-economic conditions but their physical characteristics are almost similar. Slums are usually a cluster of hutments with dilapidated and infirm structures having common toilet facilities, suffering from lack of basic amenities, inadequate arrangements for drainage and for disposal of solid waste and garbage. The Kanchrapara Municipality has been selected for the present study as it has an age old history as railway workshop. The central query for the present study is to assess the current livelihood status of slum and non slum communities in Kanchrapara municipality. In course of time a marked growth of population has been observed and at the same time slum population has also been increased. As slums have a tendency to concentrate in the peripheral region of the Towns, Kanchrapara Town has also got a large number of Slum population an almost all wards and some have dominant areas covered by slum population. So economic, social and cultural disparity are distinguishing the status of the slum and non-slum areas. Finally socio-economic diversification are noted in this respect.
