 Abstract

In this present modern era there is a hard-bitten competition between private education organizations. Human resources are considered to be a very important resource for every private university along with that of the technical infrastructure. The success and sustainability of the education organization depends upon the performance of the human capital, hence in this fiercely competitive global market to combat the challenges, private education organization need a continuous review on the performance of their manpower. Performance management is the process of creating work environment. This paper aims at studying the trends in performance management system in private universities, for the betterment of the employee performance to achieve the organization goals as well as the individual goals and to investigate the factors that influence the effectiveness of performance appraisal, as well as barriers to the effectiveness of performance appraisal. From the present work, it is concluded that by implementing structured performance management system, there will be a high involvement and commitment of the people in the private universities.

 Abstract

In Karnataka there are 18 special institutions rendering educational facilities to the physically disabled children, i.e., the blind, the deaf, the dumb and the orthopedically handicapped children. This study attempts a survey of the existing educational facilities and to identify the problem areas in the education of the physically handicapped children in the age group 6-18 years. The sample covers 15 heads of such special institutions, 52 teachers teaching the handicapped children, 470 handicapped childrens, studying in those special institutions, 40 parents of the physically handicapped children, 9 welfare associations and 6 experts, who are working for and interested in the education of the physically handicapped children. Questionnaires and interview techniques have been used to collect information regarding the existing facilities and about the problems in the education of the physically handicapped children. The problem areas identified are: (1) Scope for special education, (2) Curriculum and instructional materials, (3) Training of teachers, (4) Administration of special institution, (5) Parental education, (6) Co-ordination among the various departments dealing (7) Participatory activities by the welfare associations, (8) Finance, (9) Research and (10) Facilities for teachers, students and other items.

 Abstract

Pulmonary and cardiovascular diseases are among the leading causes of mortality and disability worldwide. Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), asthma, hypertension, coronary artery disease, and other cardiopulmonary disorders significantly impair physical performance and quality of life. Although pharmacological interventions remain the cornerstone of treatment, increasing evidence suggests that yogic practices, particularly Pranayama, Asanas, Meditation, and Relaxation Techniques, serve as effective complementary therapies. Yogic breathing techniques improve pulmonary ventilation, strengthen respiratory muscles, enhance oxygen exchange, regulate autonomic nervous system activity, reduce stress hormones, and improve cardiovascular efficiency. This paper reviews the physiological basis of yogic practices in managing pulmonary and cardiac ailments with special emphasis on Suryabhedana, Nadishuddhi, Bhramari, and Kapalabhati Pranayama. The study further discusses scientific evidence demonstrating improvements in respiratory function, oxygen saturation, exercise tolerance, heart rate regulation, and quality of life among patients suffering from chronic respiratory disorders. The findings suggest that yoga offers a low-cost, safe, non-pharmacological adjunct therapy that can significantly improve functional capacity while reducing disease burden.

 Abstract

Lake Tana in Bahir Dar city of Ethiopia has a surplus amount of Papyrus plant, which has a great potential that can be used as natural fiber. Besides this fact, the contribution of papyrus plant on composite material and paper work sector of the city is negligible as compared to other countries. Moreover, due to an immaturity of awareness about this plant and unavailability of experimental tools, the performance and applications of Lake Tana natural fibers are not investigated before. Automotive industry is growing in our country Ethiopia, due to these the industry may need some materials that help to replace steel. This research tries to fill these needs by conducting software analysis and experimental test on impact strength of papyrus/glass fiber hybrid composite. The general objective of this research is to determine the impact strength of Papyrus/glass fiber Polyester hybrid composite. This is achieved by conducting different arrangement of the fibers and conducting experimental tests on the above-mentioned materials. The specific objective of this research includes Extraction of Papyrus fibers from Lake Tana Papyrus, Determination of fiber and matrix contents of the hybrid composite, Fabricating papyrus/fiberglass hybrid composite and conduct the Impact test, and Simulating using FEA software ANSYS to determine equivalent stress of papyrus/fiberglass hybrid composites. The present research is done by varying the percentage content of the natural fiber for papyrus composite and for PGFHC with fixed value of polyester. The other method is by changing the arrangement of the fiber glass and papyrus fibers in unidirectional, woven and random/Chopped/ manner. The Papyrus/Glass fiber hybrid composite is prepared manually by hand lay-up method. The samples were fabricated for each lamina and percentage content. The test pieces are cut according to ASTM standard. Tests are conducted on IZOD impact testing machine for low velocity. In addition to experimental work, samples were analyzed for equivalent stress with ANSYS. The maximum impact strength is observed in unidirectional fiber orientations and minimum values in chopped fiber orientations.

 Abstract

The effective management of waste is crucial to mitigating environmental hazards and promoting public health, especially in urban settings with rapid population growth. Traditional waste collection methods often fail due to inefficiencies in monitoring and segregation. This research presents an advanced IoT-enabled waste management system integrating multiple sensors to enhance waste collection and classification. The system utilizes capacitive and inductive proximity sensors, along with IR sensors, to enable automated segregation into dry, wet, and metallic waste categories. Additionally, real-time waste level monitoring ensures timely collection, reducing overflow issues. Experimental results demonstrate improved waste collection efficiency, higher segregation accuracy, and enhanced sustainability compared to conventional methods. The research further explores the scalability of the system and its adaptability in diverse urban environments, ensuring its practical feasibility in smart cities.
