 Abstract

ABSTRACT Cyanide exists various forms in nature as a salts of Sodium, Potassium and Calcium beside these, hydrogen cyanide or hydrocyanic acid or prussic acid is produced by number of plants of the World flora. In plants Cyanogenesis is a bio-chemical defense mechanism to protect themselves from microbies as well as from herbivore. Amygdalin, Dhurrin, Prunasin Linamarin , Lotaustaralin Cardoispermin etc. are the cyanogenic glycosides present in plants. On hydrolysis these glycosides release hydrogen cyanide. In the present study the quantative estimation of total cyanide in some of the members of the Acanthaceae family from Nanded district of Marathwada region of Maharashtra state has been reported.

 Abstract

The paper titled "Enhancing Workplace Hygiene: A Study of Industry Practices in Kurnool District" examines the relationship between workplace hygiene and employee satisfaction across various industries in Kurnool District. Through a descriptive-analytical approach utilizing primary and secondary data, the research explores the hygiene conditions in industries like Cement, Alkaline, and Agro-Processing. The study reveals that the Cement Industry consistently ranks higher in employee satisfaction with workplace cleanliness, sanitation facilities, and access to clean drinking water, while the Alkaline and Agro-Processing industries report lower satisfaction levels. The findings highlight significant disparities in labour welfare practices and suggest the need for targeted improvements in hygiene, sanitation, and water facilities. Additionally, the study recommends implementing awareness programs to educate workers about their rights and the welfare measures available to them, ensuring periodic assessments to align welfare facilities with workers' needs.

 Abstract

The National Education Policy (NEP) of 2020 in India emphasizes a comprehensive and multilingual learning experience, marking a paradigm shift in the national educational system. This paper addresses the influence of NEP 2020 on English language proficiency, which has become essential for professional and academic achievement in today's globalized world. This study investigates the approaches and initiatives offered by NEP 2020 to improve English language proficiency among students, taking into account the socio-cultural and economic considerations. The overall approach acknowledges the value of English as a means of success while promoting multilingualism through a flexible and diverse educational framework. Apart from that, it explores the potential impact of such measures on enhancing students' global competence, preparing them for a competitive and integrated world. This study investigates how the NEP 2020 and related educational reforms intend to boost global competence through better English language abilities. The study examines policy documents, curriculum modifications, and pedagogical practices to highlight significant initiatives such as multilingual education, interpersonal skills promotion, Assessment and Evaluation Reforms and the use of technology in language learning. It investigates how these reforms affect students' abilities to engage in global representations, gain access to international resources, and effectively participate in a globalized economy. The findings indicate that while NEP 2020 is an important step toward improving English proficiency, its successful implementation will be dependent on resolving issues like teacher preparation, resource allocation, and regional disparities in society.

 Abstract

This paper investigates the theme of political alienation in the poetry of Al-Baroudi, a contemporary Egyptian poet known for his incisive social commentary and critical engagement with power structures. Al-Baroudi's verses are marked by a sense of disillusionment, dissent, and estrangement from mainstream political ideologies, reflecting the poet's deep skepticism towards authority and the status quo. Through an analysis of selected poems by Al-Baroudi, this study explores how the poet articulates feelings of political alienation, disenchantment, and disconnection from the dominant narratives of power and governance.

 Abstract

Sewage irrigation of local crops is common in developing countries where centralized sewage treatment plants (STPs) are still not functioning. Under a low-cost approach, sewage irrigation has been promoted not only to dispose of sewage locally and safely but at the same time also to reduce the cost of chemical fertilizer inputs in local crops. This study aimed to investigate the role of continuous sewage irrigation practices on heavy metal bioaccumulation in coriander grown in the periphery of Sri Ganganagar City, India. The leaf samples were collected from some selected sewage-irrigated sites of the city and analysed for the heavy metal load. Soil metal load was also analysed and results showed values in the ranges (mg kg-1) of 58.71 - 90.52 mg kg-1, 14.85 - 24.70 mg kg-1, 15.42 - 24.62 mg kg-1, 16.85 - 30.25 mg kg-1, 17.85 - 27.52 mg kg-1, 1.52 - 5.16 mg kg-1 and 15.85 - 25.01 mg kg-1 for Fe, Zn, Pb, Ni, Cu, Cd and Cr. Results suggested a high content of heavy metals in coriander : Fe (226.20 mg kg-1), Zn (26.77 mg kg-1), Pb (6.83 mg kg-1), Ni (42.92 mg kg-1), Cu (14.50 mg kg-1), Cd (16.07 mg kg-1) and Cr (73.95 mg kg-1). The high values of bioconcentration factor (BCF) suggested the translocation of heavy metals from soil to plant vegetative parts. The metal level was higher than the safe limits for a few metal species which indicates a high daily metal intake in the residents due to a high load of metals in vegetables grown in sewage-irrigated belts. The present study revealed that the continuous consumption of such contaminated vegetables could pose serious health hazards to residents of the concerned area.

 Abstract

The term "child maltreatment" encompasses both emotional, sexual and physical abuse as well as physical and emotional negligence. Even after controlling for confounding variables, there is substantial evidence in the general population linking childhood abuse to adult abuse and trauma. Those who experienced abuse as children are more vulnerable to all types of violent victimization. People who have experienced child maltreatment are more likely to become victims of domestic and sexual violence, and victims of violence exhibit higher rates of psychological morbidity after the incident than the general population. Females are generally considered to be a more susceptible demographic due to their higher risk of premature mortality in this situation, as well as their spectrum of physical and mental morbidities and social disadvantages. Therefore, in the selected female population, it is especially vital to increase our understanding of early risk factors for subsequent issues, as this could help pave the way for preventative interventions from serious mental illness.Motivated by the above discussed facts, the present study investigated a group of 100 female population to reveal the research insights on mental illness and child maltreatment risk among adult female population.

 Abstract

Good design of any product handle is an important task. Handle design significantly determines the productivity, overall experience as well as the health in the short and long term of the product users. For designing appropriate handles, the basic and most important requirement is knowledge of the most relevant and specific product design and marketing parameters. This article is a study about the design and marketing descriptors for a specific category of product handles - namely, anatomical handles. Six expert industrial designers volunteered to participate in this research. Extensive review of relevant marketing literature on existing products with anatomical handles available on the internet was conducted and a repository of key descriptors was developed. From these descriptors, five design and marketing relevant factors were derived. These were titled as follows - (1) handle performance (along with 2 sub-categories); (2) grip function (3 sub-categories); (3) handle feel (3 sub-categories); (4) user health (4 sub-categories), and; (5) aesthetics and details (2 sub-categories). Details about the specific sub-categories, keywords and descriptor phrases have been described in the detailed article.
