Attempts to abolish the practice of dowry by policymakers using legal measures have not found much success and have proved ineffective. The much prevalent dowry menace has led to several inevitable negative consequences. Significant among such consequences is the impact of domestic violence attributed to the practice of dowry on the children within the family. Research studies have established that juvenile exposure to domestic violence is consequential and is associated with increased display of aggressive behaviour, increased emotional complications such as depression and anxiety, lower levels of social competence, and poorer academic performance. Severe parental conflicts interrupt many critical processes of a child's psychological development. As a result, the very nature of the parent-child relationship is disturbed. The turmoil within the family leads to anxiety and emotional distress among children, and in many cases weakening their emotional bonding with the abusive father or the persons responsible for dowry related violence within the family.

Domestic workers are never satisfied with their living and working conditions because they are oftenly exploited in the name Job. The domestic workers are in a vulnerable situation having limited access to human and physical capital which acts as a major constraint in the way of better jobs or proper growth or to be in a self- employed situation. This report is based on the workload and stresses of domestic workers in the slum areas of Kharagpur Municipality. Thermophilic fungi are known to present in various habitats. The enzymes secreted by the thermophilic fungi are also known for their ability to produce thermostable enzymes which are capable of improving the quality of various industrially important products. Several microorganisms are known as potential sources of enzymes but due to the thermostability thermophiles have gained much importance. More and more numbers of microorganisms are being screened for enzyme activities day by day. The new findings in these directions would allow to explore new area in the extreme industrial process. The present study was aimed to isolate the thermophilic fungi from three compost wastes sites such as Cattle dung, Goat farm waste and Poultry waste and screened the potential producers of lipases, cellulases and proteases respectively. The thermophilic fungi were isolated from about same depth from collection sites with a temperature of 45OC and later screened for their thermophilic nature. Further study of enzyme activity showed the presences of lipase, cellulase and protease producing fungi present in samples collected from selected sites. The isolated fungi were screened for enzyme activity in liquid medium for 10 days at 45OC. Culture filtrate obtained from the medium of production were used for the assessment of enzymatic activity. The Rhizomucor pusillus (1B) has shown highest lipase activity 22.147 U/ml and Thermoascus aurantiacus (2C) was observed with highest cellulase activity 30.056 U/ml and highest protease activity 34.059 U/ml was obtained from isolates 3C of Thermomyces lanuginosus. Further detailed studies with respect to these strains could be done to utilize them in industrial applications.

This study presents a systematic review of literature spanning from 2001 to 2024 to explore the multifaceted impacts of Perceived Organizational Support (POS) in various workplace settings. Using databases such as Scopus and Google Scholar, the research reviewed one paper from each year to understand the evolving impact of POS. This review identifies key antecedents and effects of POS. The study reveals that POS is significantly influenced by factors such as fairness, supervisor and coworker support, growth opportunities, and organizational rewards. The effects of POS, as highlighted in the reviewed studies, include improved job performance, organizational commitment, and reduced turnover, stress, and anxiety. POS serves as mediator in various contexts, moderating the relations between job stressors, employee engagement, and performance outcomes. This review underscores the strategic role of POS in fostering positive work attitudes and enhancing overall employee well-being, providing valuable insights for organizations aiming to improve employee support mechanisms and optimize workplace environments.

The act of providing women with the authority and autonomy to make choices about their own lives, as well as providing them with the essential skills and competencies to ensure their appropriate place in society, is one definition of the concept of women's empowerment. It is estimated that women make up around fifty percent of India's total population. In light of this, the total advancement of our country is contingent upon the empowerment of this large population, which continues to be subjected to a number of limits and stigmas imposed by society. In light of these conditions, it is not conceivable to say that our country would accomplish progress in the future without empowering fifty percent of its population. The purpose of this study is to investigate the concept of women's empowerment in India as well as the problems that are related with it.

This study examines gender differences in the use of ego defense mechanisms among college students and their relation to adjustment levels. Freud's foundational work on defense mechanisms, particularly repression, and Anna Freud's further elaboration on these psychological constructs provided insight into this research. This research explores the use of various defense mechanisms, such as Turning Against Object (TAO), Projection (PRO), Principalization (PRN), Turning Against Self (TAS), and Reversal (REV), among 100 college students (50 males and 50 females) of Bhagalpur University. The results reveal significant gender differences in the use of defense mechanisms: males scored higher on TAO and PRO, while females showed higher scores on REV. It was observed that no significant correlation was found between defense mechanisms and adjustment scores, suggesting that even though gender differences exist, these mechanisms do not strongly influence adjustment levels. The findings shed light on how different defense strategies are employed between the sexes, which has practical implications for tailored psychological interventions. These insights could enhance therapeutic approaches by addressing gender-specific coping strategies and improving support mechanisms for students.

Tourism stands as one of the most dynamic and rapidly expanding industries across the globe, offering people the allure of exploration and the joy of discovering new areas, cultures, and lifestyles. For many, travel is not just a leisure activity but a gateway to knowledge, fostering curiosity and providing countless opportunities for personal and cultural enrichment. The undeniable potential of tourism to drive national development is evident, particularly in regions like Uttar Pradesh. In 2022, the state witnessed a remarkable surge in tourist arrivals--approximately 318 million domestic and foreign visitors--a staggering 290% increase from the previous year, reflecting strong recovery trends post-pandemic. However, this impressive growth also brings to light critical challenges, especially concerning the safety and security of tourists. The influx of visitors has led policymakers and related departments to urgently address these concerns. Existing literature highlights the victimization of tourists in various locations, revealing that rising crime rates not only jeopardize the safety of travelers but also tarnish the reputation of the destinations they visit. This negative perception can significantly impede the overall development of the region. This paper leverages secondary literature to delve into the various forms of crimes against tourists in Uttar Pradesh, examining the support systems available for victims and proposing actionable strategies for preventing and managing such incidents, with the ultimate goal of ensuring a safe and positive experience for all visitors.
