Literacy forms an important input in overall development of individuals enabling them to comprehend their social, political and cultural environment better and respond to it appropriately. It acts as a catalyst for social upliftment enhancing the returns on investment made in almost every aspect of development effort, be it population control, health, hygiene, environmental degradation control, employment of weaker sections of the society. Literacy rate in India (Census of India, 2011) was found to be 74.04 percent. When compared to the adult literacy rate, the youth literacy rate was about 9 percent higher. During the last decade, the highest improvement in literacy rate was observed among rural females (24 percent). This paper is descriptive in nature and examines the regional inequality in literacy aspects in India based on 75th round of National Sample Survey data. This will be useful in decision support, frame policy measures to improve literacy rate among the regions.

It is a paper that attempts to bring to light the traditions that our forefathers have practiced and handed down generations after generations. Traditions that have protected and kept the tribe from surviving the test of times. Traditions that kept the people simple, honest, generous, and committed. Despite the absence of written records and scientific methods, they have been able successfully continue with their activities depending on many such traditions which may seem unscientific, superstitious and ancient but was followed and adopted successfully. Unfortunately, such beautiful traditions have been discarded and lost for various factors especially the introduction of Western education and culture. It is a paper written with the sincere intention to keep it alive and remembered that those were the traditional practices that kept the community alive.

The Indian poultry industry has experienced phenomenal expansion since the late 1970s. States in South and West India have taken the lead in this area. According to the 19th Livestock Census from 2012, there are 729.2 million birds in India, which is a significant increase from the country's population of 73.5 million in 1951 and a growth rate of 21% each year in the grill industry alone. Poultry is one of the livestock species that is raised the most intensively and provides significant quantities of animal protein to the world. They frequently provide some environmental threats to both human and animal lives through water/soil and air pollution, in spite of their enormous socioeconomic advantages in terms of the production of eggs, and meat. These wastes include, but are not limited to, litters, on-farm fatalities, avian faces, and waste from hatcheries. These wastes cause severe environmental issues if they are not utilized properly. Due to their abundance in keratin proteins and amino acids, poultry feathers may be used to make important goods including feather meal, biodiesel, biodegradable plastic, and fertilizer. Additionally valuable as a source of fertilizer, methane, and power is poultry dung. This review goes into great length about the potential for using various poultry wastes. A lot of poultry waste is produced. The trash can still be recycled into valuable items, but cost-effective solutions have not yet been discovered.

Teacher Education; the concept itself is vast than it seems; a programme which prepares teachers, who are capable of building characters in such a way so that they can contribute towards society. In this ever changing world where people are dealing with challenges in every step of their life, teacher education has also gone through numerous challenges. A holistic approach is always a necessary step to provide quality to the whole process. Looking at things from one perspective restricts the knowledge and hence cannot help in educational sustainability. The constructivist approach is one such approach which is a paradigm shift from the teacher centric mode of educating the learners. Learner here is allowed to construct ideas or knowledge on their own out of the existing one. They actively participate in the process of teaching-learning. Teacher Education; pre-service or in-service both focus on building up teachers who are updated with all the new knowledge, techniques, approaches, etc. to deal or cope up with dynamic nature of the society. To provide quality education to the learners, teachers need to understand that knowledge cannot be gathered in isolation which suggests that learners need to be guided to be the part of larger community in the process of constructing knowledge. Sustainable development in education encompasses the goals of equipping learners with the knowledge, skills and attitudes which is required to address global challenges, promote social justice and foster environmental sustainability. This approach thus is a step towards Educational sustainability which focusses on shaping a sustainable future of the prospective teachers. This gives a different outlook to deal with the challenges that people all over the globe are facing. This paper is descriptive in nature and focusses on the pivotal role played by constructivist approach in the field of teacher education.

MSME is the backbone of Indian economy as it plays a crucial role in development of Indian economy by its volumetric contribution in Indian GDP, providing employment and in total export of India. Despite having such an important role to play, MSME faces a lot of challenges in their functioning. Vivid literature review has been done to build the conceptual framework and understanding the challenges of MSMEs for this paper. The paper talks about the challenges that MSMEs in India are facing in different stages of its life cycle. Some of the major challenges are lack of adequate and timely finance, regulatory issues, poor technology intervention, poor infrastructure, absence of trust etc. These challenges must be addressed by the relevant authority. It is expected to be useful for the policymakers of MSMEs in India. It also aims to provide a basis for the future empirical research and further academic studies.

In a country like India where 70 percent of its population lives in rural area and 60 percent depend on agriculture (according to the World Bank reports), micro-finance can play a vital role in providing financial services to the poor and low-income individuals. Micro-finance is regarded as a useful tool for socio-economic up-liftman in a developing country like India. It is expected to play a significant role in poverty alleviation and development. The emphasis of present paper is to study the performance and role of microfinance institutions in the development of India. The study revealed that the number of MFIs availing loans from banks during the year 2015-16 and 2016-17 increased from 9.8 per cent to 257.6 per cent. The total loans to MFIs by banks decreased during 2016-17 by 7.2 per cent over the previous year. The loan outstanding against MFIs increased all the subsequent years. It increased by 13.7 per cent and 14.3 per cent in 2015-16 and 2016- 17. It is further found that the business models of MFIs in India are becoming urban centric as is indicated by the fact that the share of rural client's base of different states/UTs in 2017 with 2016 has declined, except Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Jammu & Kashmir and Andaman. The highest increase was in Andaman (267%) followed by Jammu & Kashmir (17 %),. The proportion of income generation loan remained same during year 2015 and it increased up to 94 per cent in the year 2017. The indicators relating to overall financial structure such as Return on assets and Return on equity, capital adequacy ratio have increased over this period and found sharp decline in total assets of MFI's.

Abstract The Mahjar literature was established by Arab writers, who emigrated from Lebanon and Syria to North and South America due to socio- political and economic problems in the end of the nineteenth and beginning of the twentieth century. The famous mahjarites who represent the Arabic literary movement in America are- Jibran Khalil Jibran, Mikhail Nu'aymah, Iliya Abu Madi, Khalil Mutran, Amin al-Rihani and so on. These emigrants writers and veterans were more receptive to Western culture and literary trends than Arab back home. A close acquaintance with the works of American poets namely- Emerson, Longfellow, Whiteman and many others and perfection in more than one Western language enabled them to lead the revolt against the conventional style of Arabic prose and poetry. The contributions of this literary movement of Mahjarites in the development of Modern Arabic Literature are quite appreciable, which evolved due to the eventful migration of some Syrian stock to the United States. This literary movement and that her sister organizations "Rabitah Al- Qalamiyah (the pen league) and Usbatul- Andalusiyy (Andulisian Society)" formed the bases for the birth of what is known today as 'Mahjar School' in Modern Arabic Literature. The outcome of this cultural contact gave a hybrid product of Arab- American cultural and literary values and it brought a new revolution in Arabic Literature. The main objective of this literary movement was to establish both in North and South America to preserve the Arabic language and literature as a 'New Look'. This literary movement played a significant role in the development and promotion of the Arab literature in the West.
