The present study focuses on the development and evaluation of a multifunctional polyherbal shampoo powder with natural hair coloring properties. The formulation was prepared using herbal ingredients such as reetha, shikakai, amla, henna, indigo, hibiscus, neem, and fenugreek, which provide cleansing, conditioning, nourishment, anti-dandruff action, and natural coloring effects. Three formulations (F1, F2, and F3) were prepared with different proportions of henna and indigo to obtain different hair shades. Evaluation parameters included organoleptic properties, powder characteristics, physicochemical tests, foaming ability, wetting time, washability, colour test, and skin irritation test. Results showed good flow properties, suitable pH (5-5.5), good foaming index, easy washability, and no skin irritation. Color testing showed reddish, brown, and dark brown to blackish shades for F1, F2, and F3 respectively. The study confirms that the polyherbal shampoo powder is a safe, effective, and economical natural alternative to synthetic shampoos and hair dyes.

The Oilfield Residuals Recovery and Waste Mitigation Program (ORRWMP) focuses on reducing water pollution caused by oil spills and floating waste. The project develops a multipurpose, solar-powered vessel that simultaneously removes oil contaminants and surface debris like plastics and garbage using conveyor-based collection systems. The belt-type oil skimmer works on the principles of adhesion and specific gravity. A polyurethane belt, which is oil-attracting and water-repelling, rotates through contaminated water and collects oil on its surface. Scraper blades then remove the oil into a storage container while the belt continues the cleaning cycle. Alongside oil removal, a separate conveyor collects floating solid waste. This integrated system improves water quality, protects aquatic life, reduces manual labor and safety risks, and is suitable for rivers, lakes, ponds, and other slow-moving water bodies.

In modern urban environments, the frequent loss of personal belongings such as mobile phones, wallets, identification documents, and other valuables has become a significant challenge. Existing recovery methods, including police reporting systems and social media platforms, lack real-time coordination, structured data handling, and reliable verification mechanisms. As a result, users often face delays, low recovery rates, and difficulty in locating their lost items efficiently. In this work, an innovative web-based Lost & Found Hub system is proposed, which enables users to report lost and found items in real time. The system utilizes structured data input, image uploads, and location-based filtering to improve search accuracy. A hybrid matching mechanism is implemented to compare item descriptions, visual features, and geographic proximity for identifying potential matches. Authenticated users can securely access the platform through one-time password (OTP) verification, ensuring trust and reducing fraudulent activities. The proposed system allows for efficient and automated matching of lost and found items, thereby increasing recovery rates and minimizing manual effort. The initial results demonstrate improved accessibility, faster response time, and enhanced reliability, making it a practical solution for smart city environments.

The present study investigates the impact of school management on the academic achievements subject wise, average and soft skills of secondary school students. The place of School management in performance of the students and overall healthy functioning of the school is highly efficacious. It carves the desired learning environment, institutional culture, and all round development of students. An effort has been made to examine the influence of school management on academic performance and soft skills of the students of secondary level. 200 students from class eighth and ninth standard out of randomly selected schools formed the sample. Data were collected using standardised tools. The subject scores of English, Hindi, Maths, Science and Social studies were taken under academic performance. Mean, standard deviation and ANOVA were employed to analyse the data. It was revealed that the levels of management i.e. high, moderated and inadequate have got significant influence on average performance and academic subjects individually including soft skills of the students. The study has been concluded with its educational and administrative implications.

The learning environment plays a vital role in shaping students' academic progress and examination participation. Students' absenteeism during examinations has become a critical problem at the national and global levels. This study examined the relationship between the learning environment and students' absenteeism in examinations. Student absenteeism was studied on the basis of gender and social category, and the perception of the parents was also analyzed. Bhadrak district, having 7 blocks, and from each block 2 secondary schools were selected purposefully [7*2=14 secondary schools]. Unstructured interview schedules were used for the collection of data, and data were analyzed qualitatively. The findings revealed that factors such as classroom climate, teacher support, assessment practices, academic stress, and institutional infrastructure significantly influence students' decision to appear in the examination. The study concluded that conducive learning environment and the cooperation between parents and teachers play the significant role to minimize absenteeism during examinations and enhance academic performance of the learners.

This chapter examines Barbara Kingsolver's Prodigal Summer through the ecofeminist framework of Vandana Shiva, focusing on the interconnections between food production, biodiversity, women's embodied knowledge, and resistance to chemical-based agribusiness. Kingsolver's narrative critiques monocultural farming, pesticide dependency, and technological domination of land, while foregrounding ecological reciprocity and community-based agriculture. Through characters such as Nannie Rawley and Garnett Walker, the novel stages a philosophical conflict between industrial modernity and ecological humility. Drawing on Shiva's concepts of biodiversity, seed sovereignty, and patriarchal control over nature, this study argues that Prodigal Summer articulates a literary model of resistance grounded in care, sustainability, and environmental justice. Kingsolver ultimately positions women's ecological knowledge as central to restoring balance between humans and the natural world.

Conflict resolution is vital for maintaining peace and social order in traditional societies. For the kukis of Northeast India, traditional methods of settling disputes have historically been key to peace, focusing on reconciliation instead of punishment. These practices are based on customary laws, family connections, and shared morals, operating under the leadership of the Haosa (village chief) and the Semang Pachong (council of elders). However, the rise of modernization, state legal systems and political changes has put pressure on the relevance and authority of these traditional practices. Even with these shifts, traditional conflict resolution methods still reflect the moral and cultural identity of the Kuki people. This paper investigates the structure, process, and importance of Kuki customary conflict resolution systems, assesses their effectiveness in today's world, and looks at how these indigenous systems can be combined with modern legal and democratic frameworks while maintaining their core values of harmony, forgiveness, and community unity.

Fractures are common musculoskeletal injuries, with Colle's fracture (Bahirprakoshtasthi Bhagna) frequently affecting elderly women due to osteoporosis and accidental falls. Ayurveda, through Bhagna Chikitsa as described by Acharya Sushruta, recommends methods like Anchana (traction), Peedana (compression), Samkshepana (approximation), Bandhana (immobilisation), and internal Sandhaneeya (bone-healing) medicines. A clinical trial was conducted comparing Rasonadiyoga -- a classical formulation from Bhaishajya Ratnavali containing Rasona, Madhu, Laksha, ghrit, and sita -- with standard calcium and vitamin D3 supplements in Type 1 & 2 Colle's fractures. The study observed faster pain relief by day 14, early callus formation by day 28, and complete fracture union by day 42 in the Rasonadiyoga group. No side effects were reported. The formulation proved to be a safe, effective, and economical alternative for fracture healing, validating the classical principles of Ayurvedic Bhagna Chikitsa
