 Abstract

The most preferred route for the treatment of numerous diseases and disorders is oral dosage form, although the gut wall has a number of barriers to drug administration. Colon is a site where both local and systemic delivery of drugs can take place. Local delivery could, allow topical treatment of bowel diseases, ulcerative colitis. Systemic side effects could also be reduced. To achieve successful colonic delivery, a drug must be protected from absorption in the upper gastrointestinal tract (GIT) environment before being released into the proximal colon, which is thought to be the optimum site for colon-targeted drug delivery. Conventional approaches for CDDS (Colon Specific Drug Delivery), which includes prodrugs, pH and time dependent system and microbially triggered system, polysaccharides-based delivery system has achieved limited success and having its limitations. Newly developed CDDS which includes pressure -controlled drug delivery system, CODES technology, and osmotic controlled drug delivery are unique in terms of achieving in vivo site specificity and feasibility. Polymeric approaches CDDS includes reservoir system with rupturable polymeric coating, reservoir system with soluble or eroding polymeric coatings has been achieved. These advance or/and novel approaches are effective and unique in terms of achieving in vivo site specificity and feasibility for colonic drug delivery.

 Abstract

Education is one of the most crucial indices of socio-economic development of a society. It should transform human beings to human resources. Higher education, in particular, is the main instrument for such development and change. So it is necessary to access to higher education should be available to every citizen of the country regardless of gender or caste . It is very important for the development of a society or a nation to give the importance on women in all spheres of life, like economy, education, health etc. Without the development of women, no developed society can be imagined. Education is a potent tool in the emancipation and empowerment of women. Moreover, educated women can play an important role in building the nation, human capital and the overall socio-cultural and economic development of a country to make it sustainable. Through higher education, they can also possess basic scientific outlook and commitment to the ideals of patriotism, democracy, secularism, peace and development. In this study an attempt has been made to understand the main hindrances of rural women in achieving higher education, specially in Assam as well as provides some remedial measures.

 Abstract

Delonix regia (Gulmohar) tree is a member of the family Fabaceae, subfamily Caesalpiniaceae family. It is an ornament plant and it is a deciduous, large tree with fern-like leaves. Gulmohar is also known as flame tree or royal poinciana or the peacock flower. Ayurvedic and traditional medicines uses the stem, bark, leaves, flower and seed of this plant to treat the various disease. Many phytochemicals have been extracted from different extracts of various parts of this plant. Such as alkaloids, glycosides, carbohydrate, phenols, saponinds, sugar, steroids, fixed oils, amino acids, fats, protein, etc. Some part of the plant has a wide range of pharmacological actions. It has a Anti-diarrheol activity, antihelmintic activity, antidiuretic activity, larvicidal activity, antihemolytic activity, wound healing activity, antiarthiritic activity, gastroprotective activity, antiemetic activity, antimicrobial activity, nutritional activity, haemoglutination activity, hepatoprotective activity, hypoglycaemic activity, anti-inflammatory activity, analgesic activity, antioxidant activity, antimalarial activity and and free radical scavenging effect.

 Abstract

The travel and tourism industry in the truest sense of the word is a truly global economic activity, taking place in destinations within and beyond borders, from leading and developed capitals and from smaller towns and villages in rural areas and coastal, to some of the most remote points of the coast planet. Tourism is developing rapidly at a globe as well as in India after Second World War. The reasons for steady growth of tourism are economic, social as well as other factors. Most important is raising income and consequently improved purchasing power, rise in discretionary income have created ease for most of the people of the society to have shorter or longer duration of holidays. Even improvement in infrastructural facilities, communication, and transport are other important factors which can be considered responsible for growth of tourism sector. Tourism and related sectors have become dynamic sources of income and a strategic sector for development in many countries.

 Abstract

Polystyrene is a synthetic aromatic thermoplastic polymer made from the styrene monomer. Polystyrene can be clear, hard and rather brittle. In this study, polystyrene is prepared by free radical polymerisation from styrene monomer with 200 mg of Bezoyl peroxide initiator. In the polymerisation process, the carbon-carbon Pi-bond of vinyl group is broken and a chain of polymer is formed. The polymer was characterized by FTIR, XRD and Gel permeation chromatography (GPC) for the determination of Molecular weight. The polydispersity of polystyrene was found to be 2.274.

 Abstract

The current study has been undertaken to assess knowledge score regarding Prevention of Breast cancer among mothers by awareness programme in Selected rural area, Gwalior. The research design used for study was pre- experimental in nature. The tool for study was self-structured knowledge questionnaire which consists of 2 parts-PART- I consisted questions related to Socio-demographic data; PART-II consisted of self -structured knowledge questionnaire to assess knowledge score regarding Prevention of Breast cancer among mothers. The data was analyzed by using descriptive & inferential statistical methods. The most significant finding was that 20.5% of mothers were having average knowledge regarding Prevention of Breast cancer whereas 79.5% had fair knowledge after post-test. It was suggested that nurses must educate mothers regarding Prevention of Breast cancer

 Abstract

This study is an attempt to investigate the comparative study between self-efficacy and elderly persons of Ranchi (Jharkhand). 100 elderly persons were chosen purposively from different parts of Ranchi of which 50 were male and 50 female. The general self-efficacy scale was assessed through administration of the Ralf Schwarzer and Matthias Jerusalem, (1995). Result shows that Male respondents were higher in self-efficacy scores as compared to female respondents, which is highly significant at 0.01 level. And Married elderly persons have higher level of self-efficacy than single elderly persons, which is highly significant at 0.05 level.
