 Abstract

This paper explores the economic exploitation faced by the Munda tribal community during British colonial rule and the resistance led by Birsa Munda. It examines the dual oppression from feudal landlords (dikus) and the colonial administration, focusing on land alienation, forced labour, and unjust taxation. By situating Birsa Munda's leadership within the broader socio-economic context of the late 19th century, the study highlights the Munda Rebellion (Ulgulan) as a crucial chapter in the history of anti-colonial and indigenous resistance in India. The research uses historical accounts, archival material, and tribal narratives to analyze the economic and political dimensions of the rebellion and its legacy in shaping tribal rights.

 Abstract

Breastfeeding is a natural and cost-effective method of providing optimal nutrition to infants under 24 months, essential for their healthy growth and development. The World Health Organization (WHO) highlights its numerous benefits for both the mother and child, including reduced risks of breast cancer, cardiovascular diseases, and rheumatoid arthritis in mothers, while also fostering a close maternal-infant bond. This study aimed to assess the knowledge and attitude regarding breastfeeding among primipara and lactating mothers in a selected urban community health center in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. A non-experimental descriptive research design was employed, with a sample of 30 postnatal mothers selected using a purposive sampling technique. Data was collected using a self-structured knowledge questionnaire and attitude scale. The findings revealed that 63.3% of participants had an average level of knowledge, while 26.7% had poor knowledge and only 10% exhibited good knowledge. Regarding attitude, 66.7% demonstrated a poor attitude, 20% had a fair attitude, and 13.3% had a good attitude toward breastfeeding. Chi-square analysis indicated a significant association between knowledge levels and the type of family, whereas other demographic factors such as age, religion, family income, area of residence, exposure to breastfeeding, and mode of delivery showed no significant association. In conclusion, the study highlights that while primipara and lactating mothers possess an average level of knowledge about breastfeeding, their attitude towards it remains suboptimal. These findings emphasize the need for enhanced educational interventions and awareness programs to improve breastfeeding practices and promote maternal and infant health.

 Abstract

This study explores customer perceptions of innovative banking services in Bengaluru, India, focusing on the perceived accessibility of these services compared to traditional banking methods. As the banking industry undergoes rapid digital transformation, understanding customer attitudes towards new technologies is crucial for successful implementation and adoption. This research employs a survey methodology, gathering data from 88 banking customers in Bengaluru through a structured questionnaire. The study investigates customer perceptions regarding the accessibility of innovative banking services, including mobile banking, online banking, and UPI, in relation to traditional branch banking. The findings reveal a divided opinion, with a slight majority perceiving innovative services as more accessible, while a substantial minority disagrees or remains neutral. This suggests that while digital channels offer increased accessibility for some, barriers may still exist for others. The study highlights the need for banks to address these disparities and ensure equitable access to innovative banking services for all customers in Bengaluru. Further research is recommended to explore the specific factors influencing these perceptions and to inform strategies for improving the accessibility and inclusivity of digital banking platforms.

 Abstract

Corns, typically regarded as localized skin thickening caused by repetitive friction and pressure, have traditionally been viewed through a purely physical lens. However, recent studies have illuminated the psychosomatic dimensions of dermatological conditions, suggesting that emotional stress and psychological factors may play a significant role in the manifestation and persistence of corns. This article delves into the psychosomatic origins of corns, emphasizing how unresolved emotional tension, stress, and internal conflicts can manifest physically in the form of corns on the feet or hands. A case study is presented to illustrate this phenomenon, showing how psychological stressors can exacerbate or even contribute to the formation of corns. In particular, issues such as anxiety, unresolved anger, or a need for control may lead to excessive pressure on certain areas of the body, triggering the skin's protective mechanism in the form of corns. This connection between emotional well-being and skin health is explored through a bio psychosocial model, which acknowledges the interrelationship between mind and body. In addition to conventional treatments, the article investigates the potential benefits of homoeopathic remedies in addressing both the psychological and physical aspects of corns. Homoeopathy, with its emphasis on individualized treatment and holistic healing, offers a unique approach to restoring balance between body and mind. By considering both dermatological and emotional healing strategies, this article advocates for a comprehensive approach to corn management, which may lead to more effective, long-term outcomes. Through this lens, corns are not just a physical issue but a complex interaction between body and mind, requiring a nuanced, multi-dimensional treatment approach.
