Abstract
The study was conducted in Urban Bengaluru with an objective to measure impact of Self Help Groups on urban women across a set of variables including income savings, decision making, benefits derived after joining an SHG. The individual member was the unit of analysis. Data collected from 300 respondents through a well-structured questionnaire administered as schedule keeping in the mind literacy rate in the study area and to obtain data accurately avoiding non-response. Analysis of data is done through chi-square, ANOVA and Wilcox-on Matched Pair analysis. The study concluded that there exists positive impact of SHGs on urban poor women in the study area.
