Urbanisation has resulted, among other things, in the large-scale prevalence of slums, which are crowded habitations of urban poor, with a glaring lack of basic amenities. Affordable housing with essential amenities is one of the important Sustainable Development Goals, and it is imperative to resettle the urban poor from slums in order to achieve this goal. The Slum Areas (Improvement and Clearance) Act of 1956 defines slum clearance as "the clearance of any slum area by the demolition and removal of buildings therefrom." In Tamil Nadu resettlement works are undertaken by the Tamil Nadu Urban Habitat Development Board, which has constructed over 1.7 lakh storied tenements constructed for the resettlement of urban poor. Post resettlement in a new location, there are several economic and physical impacts on the resettled poor, but there are also several often-intangible social losses. This study aims at identifying the important factors underlying the social dimensions of resettlement of urban poor, and estimating their impact on their psyche and lives post relocation. A convenience sample of 112 residents resettled to a multi-storeyed tenement in Chennai were randomly selected as the sample for study and descriptive research design was used to gather primary data for analysis. Percentage analysis, mean scores and anova were used to analyse the results and arrive at conclusions about the impact of the factors that contribute to the shock of resettlement, and cause stress and trauma to the resettled people.

Saving schemes play a pivotal role in fostering investments in rural areas by providing a structured mechanism for mobilizing local resources and channeling them into productive activities. These schemes, offered through banks, cooperatives, and microfinance institutions, encourage rural households to cultivate a habit of saving, which in turn enhances their financial stability. By pooling small savings, they enable access to credit for agricultural development, small-scale enterprises, and infrastructure projects, driving economic growth in these regions. Additionally, saving schemes help mitigate risks, improve financial literacy, and empower marginalized communities, thus creating a robust foundation for sustainable investments and long-term development in rural economies.

Abstract: Diabetes is a chronic, multifaceted disease impacting millions worldwide, with complications that can affect nearly every system in the body. Effective management and prevention are crucial in mitigating its health challenges. Advances in treatment, monitoring technology, and innovative therapies have significantly improved diabetes care, enabling better glucose control and quality of life for those affected. Preventive strategies, early diagnosis, and lifestyle modifications are essential in reducing the risk of Type 2 diabetes. For individuals already diagnosed, personalized approaches integrating conventional and advanced therapies can optimize blood sugar management and minimize complications. Emerging research, including gene therapy and regenerative medicine, offers promising avenues for future breakthroughs. Until potential cures are realized, a proactive, multidisciplinary approach remains key to enhancing patient outcomes and supporting healthier, more fulfilling lives.

The Gothic aesthetic, with its themes of darkness, despair, and the macabre, often stands in stark contrast to religious representations of light, hope, and divinity. This paper explores the tension between these paradigms, examining their historical roots, cultural interplay, and philosophical implications. Drawing from literature, art, and popular culture, we investigate how the Gothic challenges traditional religious narratives while simultaneously borrowing from them. Case studies include Gothic architecture, literary classics like Frankenstein, and modern subcultures. By juxtaposing 'Goth' and 'God,' we reveal a nuanced dialogue about humanity's dualistic struggle with morality, mortality, and meaning

Abstract: In the present paper the changing cropping intensity pattern in Koppal district is outlined, Followed by the discussion on the area under individual crops. Bhatia's method is used for concentration of selected crops. In this paper an attempt is made to study the changes in crop concentration in the study region. There has been a significant variation in the area. Patrons of the crop concentration in the study region. The indices of crop concentration area calculated for the year. 2011 and 2021. The spatial variations in the degree of crop concentration are found to be the result of the different interaction such as physiographic, climatic, hydrological, socio-economic, and technological factors in cultivational practices and cropping pattern in the study area.

The present paper concerns how the institution of Caste directs and decides the socio-economic and ritualistic life of its members. A notable trait of the caste system is the imprint it makes not only on the economic and social lives of the people belonging to different castes but also on their psyche. For every Caste, be they upper or middle or the low and former untouchable castes, the belief that "their caste is such that they have to be guided by its norms" used to be almost common to all castes. There are castes which are considered ritually "divine", but by earnings/economic status and asset ownership, they turn out to be "vulnerable, poor and marginalised". The winds of modernisation and globalisation have deepened the latter (economic conditions), and the former (ritual value) has been commercialised. This paradoxical situation, as applicable to the Potter caste, is discussed in this paper, using empirical data elicited for a broader study on the potter community of Karnataka (locally known as the Kumbaras) in perspective. The paper draws heavily from ethnographic and qualitative information based on the respondents' perceptions and opinions about their Caste and its precarious economic condition in the New Millennium.
