 Abstract

This paper presents a broad analytical and comparative study for different methods used for solving the palm print recognition and authentication using different image processing techniques. From contact to contactless techniques here this paper compares all techniques and comes with our conclusion by doing comparative analysis. Palm print recognition has been burning topics in the field of authentication and validation for many years. Different problems related to palm print recognition have been addressed. Palm print has been broadly applied in security and, especially, verification. In continuous evaluation different palm print recognition and algorithmic methods have been proposed and accomplished recognition execution. Different methods require different prior knowledge, in this paper we compare all of them and produce better one based on our survey. And this paper also proposed a novel approach for contactless palm print recognition and authentication.

 Abstract

Menstrual cycle is commonly starts from at the age of 9 years for normal girls. But for the autistic girls it is risky to understand and deal with it. In this study, 150 girls have been studied from the age of 9-14 years. The methodology which is followed during this study was primary method to collect the information through the questionnaire and with the monthly assessments. The descriptive and regression analysis is been opted for the data analysis to get the better results. The results are showing that autistic girls are not aware of their menstrual cycle, they do not have any knowledge of how to deal with it, they have no knowledge of methods to be followed during this period and most importantly they were assisted by their mothers. This is measured by the method ACF, PC and LDSH.

 Abstract

The infrastructural development of railways in the colonial period was concerned with commercialisation and industrialisation. The development of railways in India was not a sudden expansion; it had systematic and planned growth of railways by the British government. This paper seeks to describe historically and thematically the phases of railway development in colonial India, major regions of initial railway construction and focuses on those cities which were connected via railway lines in India. It will also focus on the British arguments in different perspectives for railways development in colonial India.

In one side human establish these national parks to protect the wild life and in other side he is disturbing it one self. The main purpose of this study is to know the causes of human induced disturbance in and surrounding areas of Corbett National Park and quantify them. Corbett National Park is situated in the foothills of outer Himalayas with in districts of Nainital and Pauri Garhwal and occupies the middle reaches of the Ram Ganga, covering an area of 520.82 sq km. This study is based on the first national park of India, Corbett National Park, Ramnagar. Corbett national park is rich in floral and faunal biodiversity. This study highlights how the human activities are resulting in various problems to the national park. These activities are affecting the park environment severely. By good education, stick rule, awareness and providing job to the local community this pressure may be minimized in the Corbett National Park.  Abstract

Objective: To find out the relationship between emotion regulation strategies and ego defence styles among caregivers of patients with mood disorders. Methodology: A descriptive study was conducted in the psychiatric ward and outpatient department of Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Centre, Kochi. Caregivers of patients with mood disorders (80) meeting the eligibility criteria were selected using purposive sampling. The data was collected by using the following tools: Tool 1: Structured socio-demographic profile of caregiver, Tool 2: Defence Style Questionnaire (DSQ-40), Tool 3: Emotion Regulation Questionnaire (ERQ). Analysis was done by using Inferential and Descriptive statistics. Results: Mature and neurotic ego defence mechanisms were having significant positive correlation with cognitive reappraisal and emotional suppression emotional regulation strategy. Even though immature ego defence mechanisms were not significantly correlated with the emotional regulation strategies, rationalization, projection, denial, acting out, displacement as immature ego defences were positively correlated with cognitive reappraisal emotional regulation strategy. Isolation as immature ego defences were positively correlated with emotional suppression emotional regulation strategy and displacement as immature ego defences were negatively correlated with emotional suppression emotional regulation strategy. Conclusion: From the present study it can be concluded that defence styles may be at least perceptible with regard to emotional regulation strategies of caregivers of patients with mood disorders. Therefore emotion regulation might be improved through adopting appropriate mature defence styles in order to balance the role as a caregiver.

 Abstract

The emergence of English as an international Language is regarded as an important event in the history of the world. This language is widely spoken and understood throughout the entire world. The socio-linguistic study of this language suggests that there are many varieties of English language in the different parts of the world e.g., American, British, Canadian, Australian, Indian, New Zealandian, African variety etc. During the colonial period wherever English went it adopted a different kind of variety. Generally, in most of the countries of the world there are two forms of teaching of English i.e., English as a second language or English as a foreign language. When we categorically analyse the distinct features of language, we find that there are native and non- native speakers of a language. The awareness of the nativization of English in so called non- native milieu is one of the significant phenomena of the world. Keeping this fact in view, I have covered some of the aspects that are supportive for the teaching of English Language and literature in the non- native context, particularly, in India where multilingual people live together with unity in diversity.

 Abstract

The development of antibiotic resistance has a complex history, but the underlying cause is not entirely clear. The most common contributor to the increase in resistance is the use of antimicrobials. Despite the many benefits that they bring to the human body, antimicrobials may be detrimental to health and can even exacerbate the development of resistance. However, a more likely cause of this problem is non-standard practice. The use of antimicrobials is a significant contributor to the development of antibiotic resistance. While they are highly effective in reducing infections, many clinicians misuse them, leading to an increase in drug resistance. Studies have indicated that up to 30% of antibiotics are unnecessary, while another half are misapplied. The use of broad-spectrum antibiotics, in particular, breeds resistance. This causes an increased incidence of bacterial infections and increases the cost of treating them. Similarly, antimicrobial resistance is an inevitable outcome of unstandardized practices. In fact, it has become one of the most significant public health issues in the world. For example, in the United States, about 17% of patients in an emergency department have taken a prescription antibiotic for a different reason. Other factors, including non-standardized practices, contribute to the development of antibiotic resistance. The use of unauthorized drugs and improper disposal of medications is also a contributing factor. The use of antimicrobials is an essential tool in the fight against disease. Moreover, antibiotics are the key tools in fighting against infectious diseases. In addition to their importance, antimicrobials are vital in the fight against infection. These drugs are an invaluable tool in the battle against infections. The main cause of resistance is the use of antibiotics. The antimicrobials can be harmful and are used in various medical procedures.

 Abstract

Healthcare organizations are undergoing major reorganizations and adjustments to meet the increasing demands of improved healthcare access and quality, as well as lowered costs. As the use of information technology to process medical data increases, much of the critical information necessary to meet these challenges is being stored in digital format. Web-enabled information technologies can provide the means for greater access and more effective integration of healthcare information from disparate computer applications and other information resources. In this, web-based applications in healthcare area have been described. This presents a mobile healthcare system based on Android and Web applications. The system provides assistance to patients, identifies and selects doctors based on the location and the specialties of the doctors. The system allows patients to make appointments with doctors and assigns reminders to take the prescribed medications and vaccinations. The results of testing the applications show a big saving of time and mobility of doctors and patients
