 Abstract

A festival is an event ordinarily celebrated by a community and centering on some characteristic aspect of that particular community and its religion or traditions. It is often marked as a local or national holiday, mela or eid. A tribe is viewed, developmentally or historically, as a social group existing outside of or before the development of states. A tribe is a group of distinct people, dependent on their land for their livelihood, who are largely self-sufficient and not integrated into the national society. Here the distinction between tribal and indigenous people is important because tribal peoples have a special status acknowledge in international law. Here Karbi community gains a character and a personality of its own, because of the culture of its people. The paper focus on Karbi Youth Festival celebrated in the month of February every year.

 Abstract

During elections, People in each district are divided into wards based on their locality and each ward has their respective polling booths. The people have to show their voter ID card whenever they go to the polling booth to poll their vote. This is a time consuming process as the person has to check the voter ID card, confirm it as an authorized card and then allow the person to poll his vote. The people belonging to different places have to poll their votes only in their respective booths. In our proposed system, a person can poll their vote from any location in any polling booth nearest to them irrespective of their locality. The user needs their Aadhaar card as an identity proof and fingerprint for authentication, this would be verified with the database already stored. In this project we have used RFID instead of Aadhaar card. Using the address in the card, his locality will be identified and a LCD display would show him the election candidates for his district. The voter can select the candidate of their choice using the provided keypad. The data of the casted votes would be collected and sent to their respective locality for counting. Thus the people can vote in the nearest booths and also false voting can be avoided since it links the fingerprint and the Aadhaar card.

 Abstract

In the last decade research in the field of textiles is focused on the sources of natural dyes and natural mordant. The flowers of Senegalia catechu have been used for dyeing process of wool with biomordant. Banana pseudostem sap was applied as a biomordant in this study. Dyeing process conducted by pre , simultaneous and post mordanting method. The evaluation of colour strength (K/S Value ) also done. With the help of Kubelka- Munk equation colourfastness of dyed wool have been tested toward washing and light. Different shades were obtained due to varying concentration of dye. Simultaneous mordanting method given very good to excellent results of dyed wool samples.

 Abstract

Green Marketing is a concept which has developed particular importance in the modern market. Now a day it has become a big problem to protect the environment from pollution. Consumers are also aware of the environmental issues, like global warming and impact of the environmental pollution. There has been a wide change in consumer attitudes towards a green lifestyle. Increasing awareness on the various environmental problems has led a shift in the way consumers go about their life. People are actively trying to reduce their negative impact on the environment. The current study introduces the concept of green marketing and looks into the various ways in which the different consumer attributes are related to the concept of green marketing. The paper describes the current scenario of Indian market and explores the challenges and opportunities businesses have with green marketing, why companies are adopting it and future of green marketing and concludes that green marketing is something that will continuously grow in both practice and demand.

 Abstract

Human Rights may be regarded as those fundamental and inalienable rights which are essential for life as human being. Human rights are thus those rights which are inherent in our nature and without which we cannot live as human beings. Jack Donnely pointed out that human rights are the new standard of civilization. India as a democratic country has a main objective of protection of the basic rights of the people. The Constitution of India recognize these rights of the people, the Constitution of India which assures dignity of the individual as a core value in its Preamble. When an institution or individual wants interpretation to a human rights provision in the constitution or other instruments the court is there to lend a helping hand. Preamble attaches a great importance to the concept of democracy. The Supreme Court has rightly declared that democracy is an essential feature of our Constitution and is part of its basic structure . The laws are meant to reaffirm and recognize human rights and to provide the mechanism for their enforcement.

The purpose of the study was to understand the online news consumption habits. The study was conducted using survey method. For better results age was considered as a variable. The results showed the high level of influence by social media in the news consumption of people. Most of them prefer digital devices to access news and get involved with social media pages, forums etc. The results of the study can be used by social media analysts, app developers, news houses as well as journalists.
