 Abstract

Throughout history, in the name of bread-winning, men have the privileges to accept the public arenas that grant them power, while women are still being restricted to interaction on the home front. As a legal contract, and social institution, marriage and family maintains a great deal of power in society, both historically and contemporarily. Githa Hariharan claims that it has made a great impact on the psyche of the silenced sect to such an extent that they themselves start to judge their personal fulfillment through its strength unmindful of the male dominance and restriction within the domestic sphere. This paper focuses on the changing perspectives of women psyche in the novel of Githa Hariharan with special reference to growing awareness and their persistent efforts to break away from the stultifying male ideology. The novel The Thousand Faces of Night of Githa Hariharan reveal the long distance that Indian women have traversed, starting from subjugation and servitude to persevering protests and finally arriving at assertion of their identity against the patriarchal society. In particular The Thousand Faces of Night present different stages of feminine progress.

 Abstract

One of the greatest concerns in both developed and developing countries like India, is access to the primary health care information and maintenance of EHR (Electronic Health Records) and EMR (Electronic Medical Records). Though, the people living in cities have better access to high end health services, the millions of people residing in rural parts of the country are facing serious problems in accessing healthcare. Also the healthcare organizations have become data rich but information poor. Now-a-days, large amounts of heterogeneous medical data have become very common in most of the healthcare organizations. Further, it has become mandatory for the healthcare organizations to use Big Data analytics such as non-linear multivariate predictive analytic models to understand the better diagnoses, origin of diseases, health care fraud detection, provide personal health care and deliver high quality care with low cost to the patients by combing the emerging technologies like Hadoop Framework, Map Reduce and Spark for better data analytics. This paper addresses the difficulty in accessing primary health care, EMR & EHR, big data and its use cases in healthcare sector, also discusses how spark overcomes Hadoop for better analytics.

 Abstract

The proximate biochemical composition of a species helps to assess its nutritional and edible value in terms of energy units compared to other species. A variation of the biochemical composition of fish flesh may also occur within the same species depending upon the fishing ground, fishing season, age and sex of the individual. In the present study the major biomolecules i.e., protein and lipids, ash, moisture content in the muscle tissue are studied with respect to different seasons in three Mystus species, Mystus vittatus, Mystus gulio and Mystus cavasius. The results of the present study suggest that the proximate composition of fish species greatly varies during different seasons. This might be due to physiological reasons and changes in environmental conditions.

 Abstract

Nature has been the traditional source of new pharmaceuticals. In recent years, a considerable number of structurally unique metabolites with biological and pharmacological activities have been isolated from the marine derived resource, such as polyketides, alkaloids, peptides, lactones, terpenoids and steroids. Some of these compounds have anticancer, antibacterial, antifungal, antiviral, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antibiotic and cytotoxic properties. This review discuss about the potential pharmacological properties of Marine Resource.

 Abstract

Biomass is one of the most clean and renewable energy resources. Researchers give more and more attentions to the biomass because it can effectively reduce the amount of greenhouse effect due to its zero emission of carbon monoxide. From biomass utilization technologies, biomass gasification is an attractive mechanism for utilizing effectively.Despite the application of fixed bed ?ow gasi?cation on larger scales; the reaction rates in the hot conversion zone are almost unknown. But the knowledge of the rates of the gasi?cation reactions at high temperature and high pressure is crucial for the detailed design and optimization of the gasi?er. This work was focusing on the simulation of the biomass (coffee bean husk and rice husk) gasification process based on the kinetics of the gasifier and to investigate the produced syngas composition. The ASPEN PLUS simulator was used to investigate the effect of operating parameters on composition of product gas.

 Abstract

Abstract: Plants have been used as medicines for thousands of years. One such medicinal plant is Abutilon indicum. It is erect, woody and shrubby plant found commonly in tropical regions. The whole plant is used to cure many diseases. The present study determines the qualitative and quantitative analysis of leaves of Abutilon indicum in different solvents like methanol, ethanol, chloroform, petroleum ether and aqueous. The qualitative analysis of the leaves showed the presence of alkaloids, steroids, terpenoids, flavanoids, saponins, phenols, tannins, aminoacids, carbohydrates and reducing sugar. The quantification of the compounds like alkaloids, flavanoids and phenols were estimated. The result confirms that the leaves of Abutilon indicum contains significant phytocomponents and are helpful to prepare natural drugs in scientific research.

 Abstract

The classification of incomplete patterns is an uncommonly troublesome task in light of the way that the challenge (incomplete case) with different possible estimations of missing qualities may yield specific classification happens. The precariousness (unclearness) of classification is generally realized by the nonattendance of information of the missing data. Another model based credal classification (PCC) methodology is proposed to oversee incomplete patterns due to the conviction work structure used generally as a piece of evidential intuition approach. The class models procured through planning tests are independently used to gage the missing qualities. Routinely, in a c-class issue, one needs to oversee c models, which yield c estimations of the missing qualities. The various changed patterns, in light of all conceivable possible estimation have been gathered by a standard classifier and we can get at most c unmistakable classification comes to fruition for an incomplete illustration. In this paper, we examine about different incomplete example classification and evidential thinking systems utilized as a part of the territory of information mining.

 Abstract

Medicinal plants play an important role in traditional medicine. One such ethnomedicinal plant is Pergularia daemia. It is a hispid perennial twinning herb distributed in the roadsides of tropical and sub tropical regions. The whole plant possess more medicinal values and traditionally used in the treatment of various ailments. This study aims to determine the qualitative and quantitative phytochemical screening of methanolic extract of leaves of Pergularia daemia and also to determine the components using UV spectrometry and FTIR analysis. The qualitative analysis of the leaves showed the presence of alkaloids, steroids, terpenoids, flavonoids, saponins, phenols, tannins, aminoacids, cardiac glycosides, carbohydrates and proteins. The quantification of the compounds like alkaloids, flavonoids and phenols were done. FTIR analysis shows the presence of three major peaks and UV Spectrometry shows the presence of two major peaks and exhibited the presence of two major components in the methanolic extract of the leaves. The result confirms that the leaves of Pergularia daemia possess significant phytocomponents and acts as the source of many pharmacological studies and a curative for various ailments.
