 Abstract

Salem and Namakkal districts of Tamilnadu have numerous cassava processing factories . They released lot of cassava tuber peel (periderm) waste. The objective of this study is cassava peel waste is composted by Trichoderma viride then it is evaluated, substrate for Eisenea fetida .Initially we introduced 50 numbers of worms in to cassava vermin bed. After 50 days we got eight fold in numbers (t-test p?0.01) and 5000 fold increased in the body weight (t-test p?0.008). Bioconversion of vermicomposting also good (35.5%).Chemical analyses of vermicompost showed that pH 7.5 and E.C 0.5 dsm-1 are suitable for plant growth. The nutrient content of vermicompost are N: 1.4%; P: 0.2% and K: 4.43%. Results indicates that cassava peel waste (periderm) is found to be suitable substrate for Eisenia fetida.

 Abstract

The present problem consists of the existence and uniqueness of sextic C3-splines interpolating to a given data at the mid-points of each sub interval together with the function value and first derivative at the partition points with suitable end conditions. The estimate calculated can not be improved for a uniform partition. The technique used is that of due to Hall and Meyer.

 Abstract

Decades ago, visually impaired people faced a lot of challenges in their daily routine. Development and enhancement in technology enabled them to live confidently. Our proposed work consists of camera based assistance for the visually impaired students to improve their academics to read texts from hand held objects in daily routine works. In our proposed system we use OpenCV to filter and recognize characters from texts. This process is framed into three stages. The first stage consists of a mini camera which captures the image and the text is extracted from the image by text recognition algorithm. The second stage consists of the filtered text which is converted to speech as an audio output. The audio output is same as that of normal human speech. The third stage consists of speech to text conversion. The entire application will run on Raspberry-Pi kit. The camera module is used to capture the required image which will be later processed in OpenCv platform by using the OCR, the text will be extracted from the image captured. The audio to text conversion is achieved by means of Google Voice Talks. The text to audio output will be provided using eSpeak.

 Abstract

Morphometric analysis is very essential and significant in all hydrological investigation for development and management of watershed. Quantitative morphometry plays an important role in the hydrological processes. The Tumkur-Gubbi watershed is situated in Tumkur district of Karnataka between Latitude 13?13?00? to 13?33?30? and Longitude 76?58?30? to 77?16?30?. It forms the parts of Shimsha river basin comprising parts of Tumkur and Gubbi taluks of Tumkur district, Karnataka State. Tumkur-Gubbi watershed is sub divided into Bugadanahalli, Hanumanthapura, Maidala, Sankapura and Halinuru sub-watersheds, Morphometric analysis of the above mentioned sub-watersheds are carried out using LISS-III and ASTER GDEM satellite imageries data and SOI maps are georeferenced and are computed using ArcMap-10.2.2 on 1:50,000 scale. These sub-watersheds show dendritic to sub dendritic drainage pattern with 5th order stream and lower order streams are dominated. Low to moderate drainage density (1.07 to 2.17 km/km2) of all sub-watershed indicates strong permeable material with exalent vegetative cover and moderate relief. The stream frequency of the sub-watershed ranges from 0.74/km2 to 2.65/km2lower value indicates good permeability, vegetation and infiltration capacity than the higher values. The Relief ratio is ranging from 0.009 to 0.023suggesting the intensity of erosion which operates on the watershed slopes. The value of elongation and circulatory ratio shows that all the sub-watersheds having elongated shapes. Therefore, remote sensing is an efficient tool in computing the morphometric parameters.

 Abstract

Electricity being an imperative section of recent age technology for relentless development. The electrical energy consumption is expanding all over the terra due to which the gap between the demand of electrical power and generation is increasing. Raising cost of the fossil fuel has led the accentuation on the application of renewable energy sources as an alternative source of power generation. The assorted execution of solar and wind energy sources are in demand for power generation, as they also smite the problems such as unavailability either of solar or wind power throughout the year due to their unpredictive nature by using hybrid renewable energy instead of considering any single source (solar or wind or biomass) become cost effective by minimizing unit cost of generation. The main objective of this paper is to represent neuter outlook by variant authors in context of optimize stand-alone solar-wind hybrid power generation system and maximize the use of renewable energy resources while minimizing the total tariff of system. The HOMER optimized the system in constrained of various costs of system, percentage of renewable energy uses, carbon emission, and electrical load requirement throughout the year.
