Abstract
The relation between forests, state, and communities has been a controversial issue in colonial and post colonial India. This trend persists due the fact that forests have been a contested space for various agencies such as state, industry, and different social groups. These competing claims over forests had significant impact on the forest policy process in India. History of communal forests in South India demonstrates the complex process of contestation between the state and communities on the one hand and within different communities on the other during British rule and its influence on policy formulation. This article proposes that while socio-economic and politically dominant sections negotiated with the colonial state and maximized their benefits and majority of tribes and the rural poor requirements were not given due attention. This article documents the history of discourse and practice of community forest management in colonial South India.

In this paper we prove the symmetry result for solutions of nonlinear elliptic Neumann boundary value problems by using the Alexandrov's method of reflection and maximum principle, on the unit ball in the n-dimensional Euclidean space with n >= 3.

Abstract
Today in this present era where technological advances are at its vertex, there is not even a single sector which remains untouched by technology. Technology has not merely established our lives simpler, but also offers a high level of safety and security wherever required. Technological devices are available which provides refuge for all the mankind. In our day to day lives, we all use cooking fuel for cooking our daily meals, but if this fuel gets leaked due to some or the other way and then there is a large possibility of a calamity to occur around. Hazards due to gas leakage are dangerous and can become uncontrollable if timely actions are not taken. But this gas leak mostly remains unnoticed and there should be some means to observe them so that a quick action can be brought. The gas leak sensor is such a device which detects the gas leaks at initial levels and warns the people of the same. This project basically deals with the development of a simple gas leak detector at the initial stage and at the same time we can control this action through gsm, which is help for transforming this simple device into a most advanced gas detector system in the future.

Abstract
Studies on child labour cover reports of various types prepared by various governmental, semi-governmental or voluntary agencies of national and international statuses. These studies are conducted to look into the working conditions of child labour and to determine the causes which compel the various households to send their children to work. Since child labour is a socio-economic problem, the main emphasis of the researchers has been applied one, in that most of them have tried to suggest ways to solve this problem or to lessen its intensity. The extent studies on child labour reveals that the emphasis has been more on the aspects like theoretical and conceptual framework of child labour, Antecedents of child labour like poverty, adult unemployment, education, gender discrimination etc., their working conditions with an emphasis on varying problem arising from different sectors of economy, consequences of child labour for children in terms of their physical and psychological health and on social and economic conditions of the family etc. These studies revealed a general analytical prospective and provided a focused and rational attitude for the present study
