 Abstract

The dissolution of barriers as an aftermath of globalization has led to a magnanimous rise of information exchange leading jeopardy of ownership rights. Liberalization and globalization have unexpectedly and excitingly altered perceptions about science and its practice in most of the developing countries of the world. Multinational companies, hardly known for moderation and thoughtfulness, especially when commercial interests are involved, have set out to fence vast areas of science under the guise of protecting intellectual property. The information flow from one country to another is now a matter of seconds. The digital world is created in a virtual sphere where it becomes difficult to monitor the ethical conduit of information flow. A few potent questions may arise here as 'who or which is the source of information'? Is the medium a primary or secondary source? Are credits ethically attributed to the initiator of knowledge?

 Abstract

The objective of the paper is to summarize the applications of Intelligent Decision Support Systems (IDSS) in Healthcare Monitoring Systems (HMS), that too mainly in monitoring the heart diseases and providing necessary remedial actions. The Decision Support Systems (DSS) are capable of handling the complex and ambiguous scenarios from the earlier statistics. The objective of DSS lies in accomplishing the evolutionary computation and the ultimate decision making nature even in the uncertainty situations. Integrating the Artificial Intelligence (AI) into DSS transforms the traditional DSS into IDSS, which assists the humans in accomplishing the right decisions in a fast and easy manner with higher accuracies. The extensive study concluded that the IDSS had played an essential role in monitoring and remedial actions in the healthcare domain.

 Abstract

Today the demand of electricity in India is increasing and is already more than the production of electricity whereas the reserves of the fossil fuel are depleting every day Solar tracker and the components which made up Solar Tracker. Solar cells are converters. They take energy from the sunlight and convert that energy into electricity this fact from the electricity-cuts during summer. Luckily sun throws so much energy over India, that if we can trap few minutes of solar energy falling over India we can provide India with electricity for whole year. A solar tracker is a device for orienting a solar photovoltaic panel, day lighting reflector or concentrating solar reflector or lens toward the sun. Solar power generation works best when pointed directly at the sun, so a solar tracker can increase the effectiveness of such equipment over any fixed position. The solar panels must be perpendicular to the sun's rays for maximum energy generation. Deviating from this optimum angle will decrease the efficiency of energy generation from the panels. In our system there is a special priority to ambulance and fire brigade. A smart card is issued to all the ambulances and the fire brigade buses which will be detected at the signal and will be allowed to pass the signal without any interruption.

 Abstract

Nowadays congestion in traffic is a serious issue. The traffic congestion can also be caused by large Red light de-lays, etc. The delay of respective light is hard coded in the traffic light and it is not dependent on traffic. Therefore for simulating and optimizing traffic control to better accommo-date this increasing demand is arises. In this paper we stu-died the optimization of traffic light controller in a City us-ing raspberry pie and IR sensors. Thus I propose multiple traffic light control and monitoring system. The system tries to reduce possibilities of traffic jams, caused by traffic lights, to an extent. The system is based on image processing using python during day time and ir sensors in the night. The micro-controller used in the system is Raspberry pie. The system contains IR transmitter and IR receiver which are mounted on the either sides of roads re-spectively. The IR system gets activated whenever any ve-hicle passes on road between IR transmitter and IR receiver in night. Microcontroller controls the IR system and counts number of vehicles passing on road. Microcontroller also store ve-hicles count in its memory. Based on different vehicles count, the microcontroller takes decision and updates the traffic light delays as a result. The traffic light is situated at a certain distance from the IR system. Thus based on vehicle count, microcontroller defines different ranges for traffic light delays and updates those accordingly. In our system there is a special priority to ambulance and fire brigade. A smart card is issued to all the ambulances and the fire brigade buses which will be detected at the signal and will be allowed to pass the signal without any interruption.

 Abstract

HFC-161 (Fluroethane) is being considered as an alternative to HCFC-22 in air conditioners. It has zero ODP and ultra-low GWP. The thermophysical properties of HFC-161 are very close to HCFC-22 except flammability. The lower flammability limit of HFC-161 is 3.8% by volume in air, which is almost double of HC-290. It is reported that it has good compatibility with mineral oil. HFC-161 has not yet been classified by ASHRAE Standard 34 for safety. This paper discusses the simulated results on the suitability of HFC-161 as an alternative to HCFC-22 for room air conditioning applications. The simulation has been done using computer simulation tool for drop-in conditions as well as for some design variations including compressor capacity and condenser area. The results show that the cooling capacities are comparable with HCFC-22 and HC-290. COP is higher than both HCFC-22 and HC-290. The discharge temperatures are lower than HCFC-22 but higher than HC-290. EN 378 specifies the allowable charge in a closed space to avoid any risk due to flammability. While the limit is about 8g/m3 for HC-290, it is about 15 g/m3 for HFC-161. For an air conditioner with a nominal cooling capacity of 5.2 kW, one has to take special efforts to meet this limit for HC-290. However, it may be possible for HFC-161 to meet EN 378 without many changes in the heat exchanger configurations. In this paper, the simulated performance of split air conditioners (SAC) using HFC-32 with nominal cooling capacity of 5.1 kW was studied. The simulation has been carried out for SAC using test conditions prescribed in Indian Standards IS 1391 (1992) Part I. The simulation has been carried out for variation in compressor capacity, capillary, and exchanger tubing. The results showed that COP improvement for HFC-32 air conditioner is about 8% when 5 mm tube OD was used for condenser. There is marginal improvement in COP when capaillary optimization was performed.
