Numerical solution of the modified equal width wave equation is obtained by using lumped Galerkin method based on cubic B-Spline finite element method. Solitary wave motion and interaction of two Solitary waves are studied using the proposed method. The (2+1) non-linear wave equation ut+u3ux+u3uy-uxxt-uyyt = 0 is considered. A symmetry classification of the equation using Lie group method is presented and reduction to the first or second order ordinary differential equation is provided.

India with 1,46,133 fatalities per annum, accounts for about 10 percent of total world's road fatalities. The case study focuses on the identification of existing and potential safety hazards to the road users of an existing road NH-3 Section from Rau-Circle to Manpur. The section was chosen for Road Safety Audit (RSA) study as it already existed just like most of the 3.3million km of already existing road networks in India and carries considerable amount of traffic throughout the year. Any kind of changes in geometry and alignment cannot be made easily which could otherwise prove to be very expensive to improve upon. Through this Audit, potential road safety issues were found and suggestions were made to prevent frequent occurrences of accidents or at least reduces their severity, thereby making the journey safer for the road users and its surrounding area. The analysis were made based on the modified checklist made as per the Guidelines of Road Safety Audit Manual IRC:SP:88-2010. The analysis for NH-3 section from Rau-circle to Manpur may not be the same for every other road network in the country as it also depends upon type of terrain, surrounding conditions, their environmental. The study helped in gaining knowledge about the designing of safety devices and methods through which risk of an accident can be reduced and identifies the conflict point and provide measures to reduce the severity of such accident at these conflict points, as any loss of life or injure to a person is a loss to the economy of a Nation.

Devanagari is the most popular script which is mostly used in India.This paper presents a technique for grading of writers based on offline handwritten Hindi characters written by them. This process is complex task because of different person have different handwriting style. This paper have some techniques such as diagonal feature extraction , zoning feature extraction that is used to find the feature of individual character and k-Nearest neighbor classifiers using Euclidean distance method is used for classification score for each character. For testing data set, we collected seventy five different writers sample. For training data set, we considered five printed Devanagari fonts, namely,Mangal, devlys , krishna,Kruti_dev and Utsaah.

Disposal of the waste material is major concern for industries. Red mud is an example of industrial waste having no effective waste recovery. About 1 ton of alumina is produced from 3 tons of bauxite and about 1 ton aluminium is produced from 2 tons of alumina. Depending on the raw material processed, 1-1.5 tons of red mud is generated per ton of alumina produced. The cost of red mud disposal is expensive, accounting for about 2% of the alumina price. Waste foundry sand is another industrial waste produced during No-bake sand system. On an average 1 ton of casting produced by No-bake process generates about 1.5-2 tons of waste foundry sand. In the present work, the waste material of foundry together with red mud is used as an aggregate to develop certain value added product by mechanical and thermal treatments. An attempt has been made in this work to use both these products together with a view to study their characteristics in the as-received conditions followed by experimentation based on the statistical principle governing Taguchi and ANOVA techniques. This work assesses the behavior of a predetermined shaped compact while sintering with optimization of the process parameters. The study revealed that the temperature and time of sintering have a significant effect on the compressive strength, water absorption and apparent porosity .Sintered product has a pH of 8.17 which is very close to the neutral value.
