 Abstract

Friction stir welding (FSW) has produced a great impact in several industries due to the advantages that this process presents. In particular, the automotive industry has developed a variant of the original process, called Friction Stir Welding (FSW), which has a strong interest related to the welding of aluminum alloys and dissimilar materials in thin sheets. Aluminum welding is an actual challenge, being FSW an alternative to produce these joints. However, the information available related to the influence of process parameters on the characteristics of aluminum joint is scarce. The aim of this work was to study the effect of different welding tool and its depth, during friction stir welding (FSW) of overlaps joints of commercial aluminum and then optimize the process parameters of Friction Stir Welding. FSW was done on drilling machine which never done before. MS tool is used for this study without pin. From the welded specimen Tensile Strength was obtained. It was concluded that the maximum Strength was found 149.5 MPa. The efficiency of FSW at optimum parameters was 79%.

 Abstract

Cloud computing is information technology paradigm or model in which network of remote servers are hosted on internet to store maintain and process data rather than a local server (PC). Cloud computing provide different services, facility such as application, server, cloud storage. Nowadays we can see rise of cloud storage as it allows to store large documents, it also allows consumers to use applications without installation and access their files as any computer with internet access. That means it reduces cost of installation and storage. Cloud storage plays an important role that is data sharing. But when it comes to privacy and security, cloud storage is not secure for data sharing. So users prefer to encrypt data before uploading on cloud. Key aggregate cryptosystem (KAC) is public key encryption scheme which supports flexible delegation. Secret key holder produces aggregate key for flexible choices of cipher texts. This aggregate key holds the power of all aggregated key. It is compact but powerful key. This paper demonstrates cryptography techniques for scalable data sharing in cloud storage using this constant size aggregate key.

 Abstract

India ranks 5th in the food production and consumption. Soft drinks industry is the one of the most food production industries .But the industries still face many problems in liquid levels. The main aim of this project describes the design of automatic inspection of bottle filling and packing. The inspection of bottle filling is done by capturing the images of the bottles filled by using the image processing without disturbing the production line. The process goes in two stages. They are Inspection and Segregation. Firstly after the bottles are filled they are inspected for the liquid level and then segregated based on the results of the inspection for refilling. As the bottles are moving on the conveyor belt they are first filled without disturbing the production line. This system could be more accurate and will replace the present conventional system of monitoring by humans and there by increases the productivity and profitability.

 Abstract

The purpose of this research paper is to determine the composite framing system consisting of steel girder acting monolithically with concrete has been as viable alternative to the conventional steel a reinforced concrete system in the high rise construction. The tall building and super tall building has been a common building type Mumbai, Kolkata, with multiple functions and complex geometry. Composite construction is broadly used in tall building structures and constitutes the mix structure together with concrete and steel construction. The mixture of the construction is purposely design for specific area based on the analysis results to achieve the best cost effectiveness. New types of composite construction are conceived of by engineers for columns and walls. Material distribution is more flexible and innovative in the structural level and member level. However the reliability of computer model analysis should be verified carefully. Further researches in the design and build of composite constructions are necessary to insure the success of its application.

 Abstract

The present paper deals with the analysis of compact heat exchangers for different hot fluid (air) and cold fluid (water) flow rates. It involves how the heat transfer rate, effectiveness and overall heat transfer conductance are influenced by varying the flow rates of hot fluid and cold fluid in the conventional as well as the compact heat exchangers. The available heat exchanger in the lab is a double pipe heat exchanger and experiments are carried out at different mass flow rates of water and air. The effectiveness and overall heat transfer conductance of heat exchanger is found out for different mass flow rates. Various correlations are available in the literature for estimation of heat transfer and various characteristics of the plate fin heat exchanger, so the various performance parameters like effectiveness, heat transfer coefficient obtained through experiments is compared with the values obtained from the different correlations.

 Abstract

Text Recognition in natural scene images is becoming a prominent research area and is promoting several new applications such as; car plate recognition, reading aid for the blind, tour guide systems and many more. Text recognition at word/character level is one of the key steps for development of such applications. In this work, a novel method for recognizing Kannada characters in scene images is proposed. The proposed method uses zone wise horizontal and vertical profile based features. The system is efficient and insensitive to variations in size and style, noise, blur and other degradations.
