Abstract: This paper focuses on prevalence and practice of untouchability in urban India even after seven decades of Independence. In contemporary Indian society, there exists a sense of belonging to a superior or inferior caste, into which individual are born by chance, not by choice. The present study seeks to probe empirically into how scheduled caste students perceive and respond to the practice of untouchability. Data were gathered from 50 post graduate scheduled caste students studying at Bangalore University who having been exposed to higher education, could be representing an enlightened and empowered section of scheduled castes. Education is acknowledged as a means of creating awareness about self and the society at large. Hence, the educated among the scheduled castes, are expected to be conscious of their rights and tend to oppose any discriminative practices against them by resorting to all the legitimate means at their disposal. However, the findings seem to suggest that educated sections of scheduled castes are still subjected to the practice of untouchability, persisting in diverse forms, manifestations and ramifications indicating that the Scheduled caste people have not been able to take advantage of the Constitutional provisions meant to safeguard their interests in a caste ridden society.

Self compacting concrete (SCC) is known for its two basic properties deformability or flowability and segregation resistance. Deformability and Segregation resistance in concrete is managed by introducing Superplasticizer and Viscosity Modifying Agent (VMA) in definite proportion. Use of self compacting concrete is increasing day by day because of better surface finish, less man power and easy handling. The use of Superplasticizer and VMA makes the SCC uneconomical than conventional concrete. The paper mainly focuses on the mix proportions by partial replacement of cement and fine aggregate by various ecofriendly materials, non-biodegradable fines as VMA and to critically review the mechanical properties of self compacting concrete. It was observed that appropriate combination of fine materials, superplasticizer and water powder ratio gives better compressive strength as well as adoptable workability, flowability and passability. There is need to match requirement of Superplasticizer for given fine materials in mass of concrete.

The perception of an investor pertaining to capital market can be defined as an investors opinion and attitude towards certain factors which cause fluctuation in the stocks. The primary purpose of this study is to investigate which factors creates an impact on the opinion and attitude of an investor by dividing such factors as internal or external factors to the company & understanding how these factors which formulate the investors perception on stock price fluctuations. In this paper the analysis is conducted by collecting primary data from 152 individual investors of the National Stock Exchange-India. The study also aims to find the relationship between the perception of investors on the most significant internal and external factors with their demographic characteristics. Using descriptive statistics, the paper finds that Earnings of a Company & Performance of the industry are the most significant factors that cause fluctuations in the stock price as per the individual investors. The study also uses cross-sectional analysis & multicollinear regression to ascertain a relationship between the demographic of the investors and the various factors. Analysts emphasize that investor behavior and perception play a vital role in determining the market price of a stock, thus the research is step towards understanding financial behavior of investors in the Indian stock market.

Phishing is a routine method of online identity theft and virus spreading using forged web pages. For phishing detection and prevention, previously a new methodology to detect the phishing website based on the Anti-Phishing Image CAPTCHA validation scheme using visual cryptography is proposed. It prevents leakage of password and other confidential information to the phishing websites. Prior systems used visual cryptographic schemes to counter phishing pages where one secret CAPTCHA image share resides with user and the other secret shares reside in server. During authentication a genuine server forwards its share and the user forwards his share resulting in a secured access to the system via a reconstructed CAPTCHA. Every time the user will get a new CAPTCHA and the splitting process will be done. Resulting into shares of CAPTCHA.

The mobile ad-hoc network is the self-configuring type of network in which hops can join or exit the network when they desire. In this type of network, routing is the major issue because many hops can join or exit the network anytime. The several types of routing protocols are employed which are mostly categorized into a reactive, proactive and hybrid type of routing protocol. It has been examined that AODV protocol performs well as compared to other protocols. The betterment in the AODV protocol will be proposed for path establishment from source to destination to bring down opportunities of congestion in the network. The proposed betterment will be built on bio-inspired techniques. These bio-inspired techniques are cuckoo search and bee colony algorithm. The cuckoo search and bee colony algorithm will explore an optimal path from source to destination. The explored path will be compared with the path explored by AODV protocol. The hops, which are mutual in both paths are chosen as the best nodes and hops, which are not common are chosen on the basis of buffer size. The proposed technique is implemented in NS2 and it has been examined that it performs well in terms of delay, packet loss, throughput and energy than AODV protocol.

Competency-based learning is learner focused and works naturally with independent study and with the instructor in the role of facilitator. Learners often find different individual skills more difficult than others. Competency based education system ultimately responsible for the quality of the program and engaging with students in a way that helps those students achieve mastery. In which students take on the role of teachers and teachers take on the role of students. In this paper the study aims at investigating the Assessing and reporting students learning outcome competency by the faculty in relation to their age, Qualification ,marital, status, designation, department and experience. The sample consists of 500 teachers from arts and science and engineering background in Coimbatore city. Teaching competency rating scale constructed and validated by Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin. The data was analysed using descriptive and differential analysis. The study reveals that the teachers have high level of teaching competency. It also concluded that there is significant difference is found between demographic profile and Assessing and reporting students learning outcome competency in their teaching method.

As data is growing so quick consistently, analysis of big data is a big problem for traditional analysis technique. Data generated from various resources is huge in volume and highly unstructured in nature, it is thus important to structure the data and leverage its actual potential. This requires a need for new techniques and frameworks to aid humans in auto- matically and intelligently analyzing large data sets to acquire useful information. Here, proposed a Parallel Random Forest algorithm for big data on the Apache server. The Parallel Random Forest algorithm is optimized based on the both data and task- parallel techniques. The algorithm incrementally estimates the accuracy for classifying the data streams, which is priors to the parallelization process in order to reduce the training time and prediction process using random sampling and filtering approach, that improves the dynamic-data allocation and task-scheduling mechanism in a cloud platform.

With quick heightening of existing multimedia doc- uments and mounting demand for information indexing and retrieval, much endeavor has been done on extracting the text from images and videos. The main objective of the proposition is to spot and get out the scene text from video of different unknown regional languages. These languages are recognized and later translated to English. Extracting the scene text from video is requesting due to complex background, varying font size, different style, lower resolution and blurring, position, viewing angle and so on. Text Region Indicator (TRI) is being developed to compute the text usual confidence and candidate region by performing binarization. Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) generally utilized as a part of pattern- and image-recognition problems as they have various favorable circumstances contrasted with different strategies. CNN is a special type of feed-forward multilayer trained in supervised mode.Neural network is used as the classifier and Optical Character Recognition (OCR) is used for character verification. Convolution Neural Network Technique is used for processing. CNN is a class of deep, feed- forward artificial neural networks that has successfully been applied to analyze visual imagery.

The arrival of Digital technologies and the growth of e-commerce have started the development of cashless transactions. The starter of electronic money, particularly in the form of debit/credit cards and e-wallets have boosted the confidence for a rapid passageway to a cashless, even a less cash culture. This article studies the knowledge of a cashless society which grew through Digital India programme. It describes several methods of cashless transactions. The study highlights the role of demonetization the pathway to a cashless society. It discourses several actions taken by central and state governments to inspire cashless dealings. It presents the policies made by the central government for boosting cashless transactions in India.
