 Abstract

The issue of multicultural education is of paramount importance in the twenty-first century (Banks & Banks, 2001).Gay (2000) defines culturally responsive teaching as using the cultural knowledge, prior experiences, and performance styles of diverse students to make learning more appropriate and effective for them; it teaches to and through the strengths of these students. For the present study survey was employed and data were collected from 45in-service teacherstounderstand their perceptions and awareness of multiculturalism, using Self-assessment checklist and Multicultural Quiz addressing various issues related to multiculturalism viz. Differences in cultures, Classroom activities, Classroom interactions, Teaching-learning strategies supporting multiculturalism and Behavior- Mannerism – Dining etiquettes across the cultures. This piece of research thus attempted to find out the perceptions of in-service teachers teaching in multicultural classroomswith respect to multiculturalism and multicultural education. It is observed that the teachers participated in the study are aware about the classroom practices but comparatively are less aware about various behavioural aspects and mannerisms across globe and similarly dining etiquettes across the varied cultures.

 Abstract

In last few years, complex human activity recognition acquired sizeable research attentions. This is due to extensive scope of pattern recognition owing to its noteworthy applications such as robot learning, surveillance, user interface design and so on. For example, activity recognition systems can be applied in human robot interaction in industry to improve their assembly tasks. During the past few years, orientation variations and joint location sequence is widely used for capturing human sequence after extracting discriminative features from frames. However, robust features with complex recognition of human activity were not focused. To address this issue, a Gaussian Polar Coordinate with Sequence Likelihood Support Classifier (GPC-SLSC) framework for complex activity recognition is investigated. To start with, in this work, differentiation between the background and foreground frame are made from raw data using Gaussian Foreground Frame Detection. The obtained features are further processed using Polar Coordinate Feature Extraction model to make them more robust. Finally, the features are trained with Sequence Likelihood Support Vector Machine Classifier for successful complex human activity recognition. The proposed framework is compared with the traditional human activity recognition approaches such as Compressive sensing dictionary-based approach and Long Short Term Memory (LSTM) Recurrent Neural Network where it outperformed them. The results of experiments show that the framework recognizes complex activities involving maximum accuracy with minimum time and complexity

 Abstract

When India emerged as an independent nation in 1947, It already had the experience of operating parliamentary institutions, and thus, in a sense, the decision of the Constituent Assembly of India may be said to have been preempted by the British political reality appears to be that the Indian psyche has found itself in harmony with the parliamentary form of government. But in recent years due enormous problems of the government the future of parliamentary system India seems to be bleak. So, a lot of efforts are required in order to ensure successful functioning of the parliamentary system in India. Development of Thought: ` Questions regarding the future parliamentary democracy in India were asked as early as the fifties, soon all the Constitution of India was adopted. In fact, two national seminars on theme were organised in 1956 and 1957.Some of the most eminent nation leaders and parliamentarians including the then Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru, participated. Nehru, as the chief artificer of the system, himself rah doubts about its ability to deliver the goods.

 Abstract

The term Panchayath raj in India signifies the system of rural Local self-goverment.it is created in all the states in India by the act of the state legislatures to establish democracy at the grass roots level.Its entrusted with the duties and responsibilities in the field of rural development. It was constitutionalised through the 73rd constitutional Amendments Act of 1992. This amendment implements the article 40 of the DPSP which says that “State shall take steps to organize village panchayats and endow them with such powers and authority as may be necessary to enable them to function as units of self-government” and have upgraded them from non-justifiable to justifiable part of the constitution and has put constitutional obligation upon states to enact the Panchayati Raj Acts as per provisions of the Part IX. However, states have been given enough freedom to take their geographical, politico-administrative and others conditions into account while adopting the Panchayati Raj System.
