The Indian civilization and social set-up is comparable with the best ones the world has ever evolved. And the speciality in it lies in its being at once ancient and modern, ancient because history cannot peep into its hoary past, modern because of its adaptability to changing circumstances age after age. Vicissitudes not uncommon with nations have not spared India. But under all changing circumstances, this great country has not lost her individuality. This is due to her holding fast to great ideals are1. Education and refinement are inter-related. No civilization is ever possible without proper education. As the background to her civilization India is endowed with an ancient educational system all her own. Through ages, what India has meant by educating a man is the building of character. The history of ancient Indian education extended several centuries, and so we naturally come across different types of educational organizations in different ages. In the pre-historic period down to about 1000 B.C the family was the only educational agency both for the literary and professional education. In a few centuries, Hinduism copied the Buddhist example and organized its own temple colleges2. Monastic Universities and temple colleges were however confined to some famous centres of learning. In medieval times the Mathas of the various pontiffs (Acharyas) used to organize small centres for higher education. In the pre-historic period the followers of different Vedas had no doubt formed their own literary organizations like the Parishads (a parishad is said to consist of 21 scholars well versed in philosophy, theology and law)3 the Sakhas, and the Charanas, Organization of Buddhist universities from the accounts handed down to us about Nalanda and Vikramasila, which were typical of their class. The in the pre-press days, libraries were not only storehouses of books but also their publishers. Moreover, Sanskrit used to be the language of higher education at that time, a place presently occupied by English.

The present study was conducted to assess the self confidence in tribal male adolescent athletes of Chhattisgarh. To conduct the study 100 tribal male adolescent athletes (Average age 17.21 years) were selected from Chhattisgarh. The minimum criteria for selection of these tribal male adolescent athletes were participation in district level track and field events. The self confidence inventory prepared by Pandey was used for data collection. The frequency distribution revealed that 67% of the tribal adolescent athletes of Chhattisgarh had a moderate level of self confidence while 12% of the tribal male adolescent athletes of Chhattisgarh were low in self confidence. 21% of the tribal male adolescent athletes of Chhattisgarh had a high level of self confidence. It was concluded that tribal male adolescent athletes of Chhattisgarh lack that extra bit of psychological edge that is necessary to excel at a higher level.

One can show that the effective field theory corectly contains the two-atom physics of a Feshback resonance. Firstly, one shows that the correct Feshbach-resonant atomic scattering length is obtained after the elimination of the molecular field. Secondly, one calculates the bound energy and shows that it has the correct threshold behaviour near the resonance. To get more insight in the nature of the molecular state near the resonance, one also investigates the molecular density of states. To calculate the effective interatomic scattering length, one has to eliminate the molecular field from the Heisenberg equation of motion. Since the scattering length is related to the scattering amplitude at zero energy and zero momentum, one is allowed to put all the time and spatial derivatives in the equation of motion for the molecular field operator equal to zero.

All normal people wish to live in peace and happiness. The feeling of happiness and satisfaction subjectively experienced by individuals has been termed as psychological wellbeing (Okun and Stock,1987). A few other terms like subjective wellbeing, mental health, life satisfiction, and quality of life have been global interest in the study of psychological wellbeing and quality of life. The paper describes about the psychological wellbeing of the individual through the yogic techniques. It highlghts the concepts and principles of yoga psychology based on Patanjalis Yoga Sutras to demonstrate how the yoga psychology parents holistic view about psychological wellbeing. It explains the psychotherapeutic, preventine and promotive aspects of yoga psychology with the ultimate aim of harmonizing human personality and transcending the self and consciousness. Referring to the cognitive model of chittavrittis, kleshas and to the silent features of the yogic method of looking within, the author has discussed the use of yogic techniques in the psychological well-being of mankind, and has called for more expirical studies on their applications in different fieds with specific purposes.

The preparation of the ligand and the complexes. The Schiff base ligand 3-armino 2-methylquinaoine 4(3H) 2,4-dinitro phenyl hydrazone has been prepared by the condersa- tion of 3-amino 2-methyi quinazolone and 2,4-dinitro phenyl hydrazine. The complexes of Fe(lI), Co(ll), Ni(II), Cr(II) and Cu(ll) metals have been prepared with the ligand in aqueous ethanolic solution. Physico-chemical methods for elemental analysis, measurement of magnetic moment, elec- trical conductivity, electronic transition and I.R. spectra have also been incorporated to this chapter.
